Decided to keep it short today as I am busy Tweeiting and researching my best and most accurate keywords for SEO.  But just to let you know we are Digging it!

We are stumbling, digging, Tweeting (& power tweeting) blogging in and out and have joined delicous, bit.ly and fave blog.  I am so busy with social media that almost everything else has gone by the by.

But such is the power of the media for SEO that it seems to me an absolute necessity to join in.  We are recording the results by Alexa ranking which seems to function better than Google Analytics which has twice in several days "broken".

Anyway the good news is that our rankings are up and our page views are growing.  All we need now is stock.  So common peeps lets get started!

On delicous as well as posterous.  The Alexa ranks are growing still!

Got stock to sell.  Too busy to do it your self.  We'll do it for you!

Everything you thought you knew about sex, but were too busy to ask!
Yesterday I was premature on my Blogger. I wrote about my amazing results on Twitter assumed by weekend Tweeting and the addition of sex. Well yesterdays Tweets (monday) no mention of sex, were my best ever. Tweeting alone gave me 137 clicks to whichever web page I chose to direct my traffic. So why was this? I am not altogether sure. I have gained another 30 followers but this alone would still be disproportionate in my click through success. Was it Richard Branson who famously said that only 20 % of his advertising works. If he knew which 20 then he would be a much richer man. Well I suppose it is the same with social media. Clearly Twitter is a huge success for me. I can analyse which pages are viewed the most but not what sparks the user to click through. Or who did. Actually I expect some of the tools are there. But my guess is that I will spend a lot of time determining what works only for the parameters to change. Wild stabs or Tweets in the dark are fun and keep my over active imagination running. You can be very inventive and off the wall with this.

Anyway, the major thing about Tweeting is that not only do I get some excellent traffic which helps with my ranking, but also I can direct my traffic to a particular advert or classified listing on the site. This means that I can drive Twitters to an advert over and over again, increase the chance of sales for my customers who then happily continue listing as the success of advertising is overwhelmingly worth the small time it took to load it.

How to run an internet site without the internet? It was a question & one I long for the answer to.

My internet has been down for several days with internet on and off. Frankly I am lost without it. All the enthusiasm which I start my day with great intentions is stunted the moment I see the screen "Speed Touch is currently down". Anyway with or without an internet connection I have still managed to get some more followers on Twitter. So I shall Tweet on and off as long as the weather allows and try to keep a steady relationship with Alexa. I can't imagine that I am going to grow in the ratings with out being very proactive but I don't want to drop back. Failing that I shall move on and read my devastatingly interesting read (not) on SEO.

So sorry for the equally dull blog. I hope that I have more to share on the progress of the website and the ratings when the weather allows.

Our latest feature on the Free UK Classifieds site is embed video.  This is a very powerful selling tool.  Many games, toys, cars films have a promotional video on youtube.  To enable this feature simply copy and paste the embed link to the right of the youtube video on to the video tab of the classified editor.

Proffessional videos cost thousands to produce, manfacturers invest in them for a reason; because it creates customers and increases sales.  How often do you check out a new game, or music by looking at the sales video first?  I do all the time.  I like to check out games to ensure that they are age appropriate for my son.  I also like to sample music before I invest in buying it.  In most music stores there is a facility to do this.  So if the facility is there why not use it.  Its FREE, it showcases the products in a way that pictures cannot and it has the potential to increase your marjins.

A recent report shows that 70% of home buyers look online before they speak to an estate agent.  This illustrates the necessity of internet presence, the more presence the better the chances that your buyer will find you.  Online video has been highlighted as an increasingly effective sales tool to drive potential buyers to your door.  So if you want to sell quickly without increasing your costs, then increase your online presence, create a video and distribute it on as many free sites as you can.  It takes very little time and will increase customer visibility and interest.

I am preparing myself for the new year, some new responsibilities with work and some more SEO learning.

I have discovered that Social Media is a very powerful tool that with some dedication can massively increase your visibility and rankings.  However one person working the social network with limited knowledge is not enough to bring about the kind of rankings that we are after.

So with the new year comes some new knowledge with my new library on SEO.  The subject is dull enough to cure the most steadfast insomniac but fortunately it is not, as I had expected it to be, rocket science.

In many ways it is very logical and really relies on application and implementation of this new tool.  Not that I have done badly.  I have compared our rankings with some friends of mine who are either in senior management and another who owns his own marketing company.  The marketing company, established in 1989 are responsible for only blue chip companies, has an Alexa ranking of over 8 million and the other one, established 2 years, has an Alexa Ranking of over 5 million.  We launched in october and now have an Alexa ranking of 2.5 million.  We climbed from 23 million to 3.5 million in about 4 weeks purely with social media tools.  Getting below this however is proving difficult, hence the need to utilise some of the more traditional seo tools are to be enforced.

Today is Saurday & I have much to do if I am to enjoy the afternoon with my family.  In the spirit of self promotion and implementing some of my new SEO knowledge, login to the UKs new classified website.  Its free to advertise.  You can buy and sell 4x4s cars, houses, pets, cats, dogs, horses and all household items.  Advertise franchises, businesses FREE and even jobs.  You can even find love & friendship or other adult services.  Maybe you are looking for some alternative health products for a healthier, happier approach to 2010!

So if you need a clear out, sell of the old and have a richer start to the year register now!  Its fast, uploading is quick and easy and its the best looking Free UK classified ads with picture gallery and free optional embed video eg Life in Cold blood.

This is showcased using the BBC promo video on You tube. Simply copy the embed link into the easy Yap Yap OK editor.  No time?  Leave it out or add it later!

Exciting things are happening and the website is attracting customers wishing to take advantage of the Yap Yap OK free classified listings.
The last 4 adverts are listed on the frontpage which creates a perpetually changing home page which is good for rankings and of course visitor interest.  One of the last 4 ads however was a very grown up DVD.
The picture on the home page is a little small since the dvd cover is made up of  small x rated images.  If you go in to the actual ad and concentrate your focus, you can just make out some of the pornographic images.   At first I was confused over the apparent mixed content untill I realised actor with the red hat was indeed an actress!
Paul from Leeds has 2 of these DVDs listed for the bargain price of £1.50 each with free p&p.  Check them out under dvds sub category adult dvds.
So I am off to have some fun with this and social media, lets prey I don't get banned from Twitter.  Meanwhile in the name of decency can some one list some more items to side line this from the home page please!

Professional SEO is so expensive. I have read books and paid for SEO expertise in the past with seemingly unmeasurable results.

Time is a big factor in search engine recognition. Any new meta data added via the experts is unlikely to yield instant results which begs the question "Does it work?"

Clearly the more meta data and keywords has to be better than none. But is this something that you need to pay a stranger to your business?

There are 6 key areas of SEO
1 Content
2 Keywords
3 Page Optimisation
4 Submissions
5  Links
6  Time

Clearly the first 2 are going to be understood by the business owner far more than any SEO expert. At one time there were many tricks used by experts to get the search engines to see them first. Now however writing reams of non sensical garbage will not only not work. It may also get you un-indexed. Therefore as long as you relate your keywords to your content with some ( but not too much) repetition then that will be far more valuable. Good information for your customers may mean that they index you as a good web source.

Page optimisation can be a little more complex as there are certain programs, features etc that search engines hate or can't read such as java, framed sites and pictures. I don't have the time to write a book but I can recommend one by Peter Kent from the Dummies series called wait for it SEO for Dummies!

Submissions is what it says it is and can be done manually with little pain to the major ones and you can allow organic recognition from the smaller ones. It depends on your resources!

Links. This can be misunderstood but both internal and external links are valuable. A sitemap is a very good internal link mechanism which search engines can see easily. External links attached to good keywords are also highly valuable. Click here is not a good keyword.

Anyone reading my blogs will know that I am a big user of social media and implement links across them all with links to various pages of my site. If you look on recent blogs, I rarely miss an opportunity to link UK FREE Classified to my home page! Click here (will take you to Facebook) but clearly does not tell Google et al anything!

Lastly, time, which we have no contrl over but having all the other key seo tools in place should reward you with higher rankings.

OK I have simplified this with a subject which is actually not that simple, not clearly understood but must be logical. After all we are talking about algorithyms which is just a posh word for mathamatical formula.

Having read my book, done some good keyword anaysis, added some content and dabbled with social media, I am ready to implement some of my findings, as soon as my developer talks me through it.

In a moment of overwhelment ( it fits but I don't think its a word), I thought I would email a couple of SEO experts. It just so happens that my 10 week old site ranked better than theres, now I'm no expert but.....................

I have been Tweeting via bit ly and I am now emailing posturous to blog. My post will be delivered to Linkedin, Blogger, Twitter, Facebook, and a couple of others whose names escape me. From there I will get retweets and echo tweets. RSS feeds will deliver news tweets to other sites and so the web spins!

Any one reading from the beginning will know how this cross linking helps to reinforce the data picked up by the bots and push you up the rankings. I am very interested in rankings since 2 of my close friends run very viable established businesses online which are ranked poorly, but are there only means of marketing and the businesses are hugely successful. Yap Yap Ok has only been live for a matter of weeks and we rank very much better. Our main tools being Social Media.

Imagine how disturbed I was to learn that a couple with a "crap" (ok subjective) record had managed to beat the X Factor marketing machine by persuading people via Facebook alone to buy their subjectively crap record and be the UK number 1 for Christmas.

Instantly I began searching the web for the names of these obviously powerful & influential couple. Immediately I saw that whilst my mothers opinion of Rage against The Machine may not be that of general appeal, but also this was not some unheard of silly song produced by an unheard of couple in Acrington Stanley.

My Social experiment is doing well considering I have on PR company or record company working the scene. I urgently want more Facebook fans & love to see that my blog gets read. So if you reached this because of some recent Tweets, then please join up.

My 9 year old son would also like some fans to his new page of the Evian Baby swimming page
Unfortunately his friend started the one of babies on skates which lets face it is fantastic, but he has done well with friends and poor Henry only has 3 fans on his group!

So if your out there, your reading this, show some compassion, make this a yes day and make this my sons day!

It has been a mad week. Our site is gaining in popularity. My Twittor followers are up, thankyou, my Facebook Followers are very slowly going in the right direction and the site now has some real advertisers on board.

I am back to square one with some of my meta data implementation having decided to use my new found knowledge, courtesy of Peter Kent the author of SEO for Dummies.

I have found some of the data analytics very absorbing. Of particular note is the keyword anaysis used by the customer to reach your site. One customer actually had "men seeking animal" as a search phrase. Even more bizarre then that he arrived at our site.

Not quite so mysterious really, considering that zoophilia is illegal ( in fact it is one offence which still carries the death penalty in the UK) and there must be very few, if any websites with the phrase "man seeking animal" actually in them.

We have in our personals, among others, "men seeking woman". In the pet section there are many keywords and phrases containing the word or meta data "animal".

When google failed to find a website with the exact phrase "men seeking animal" in the meta data, it simply looked for them contained within the confines of the website, simply put of course!

Anyway, since I am not in the business of misleading customers, I have decided not to add this obscure meta data to the website and proserve a modicom of decency for all our web visitors.

I hope you find that useful!

I have been given more responsibilities.  This means one of 2 things, either I am succeeding in fulfilling my role to such an extent that I can work less on SEO and more on alternative product management, OR my role does not justify a full time position.  I favour the first!

I have inherited some new clients at the start of their web development as well as some very difficult existing ones.  It has been suggested that a fresh new approach to some tainted relations may help to create a healthier bond with our clients.  To facilitate this new arrangement, I have emailed all clients introducing myself and requesting settlement of accounts in order to move forward.  I cleverly ignored any outstanding issues and although each letter was tailored to the client,  I  also cleverly made it look standard, requesting monies on over due accounts where applicable.  I also suggested that these accounts may be subject to developmental delays.  This has meant that the client ( who we are all scared of) and who has not paid his bill  for many months will not have his request actioned untill he does so.
Yes I know its a cop out,  but this one of our customers treats everyone with aggression and is prone to temper tantrums and threats.  I am hoping that by pointing out the new improved policy I can illustrate the benefits to the business which will enable a more efficient team working on his behalf.  Whew!
So I digress.  Yap Yap OK is still my passion.  As an internal project I can commit (part time) to my online marketing campaign.  So in summary.  Yap Yap Ok is the only free Uk classifid site with 6 picture gallery, embed video and an interactive forum enabling the vendor to channel traffic to his ad.  We also have an easy editor which identifies you as the member who placed the ad allowing front end editing!

My new role is keeping me quite busy.  Bizarrely I had expected it to detract from my role in marketing our internal Free UK classified website.  What has actually happened is that it has made me tune in and refocus my own web marketing ideas

I am actually advising customers to utilise tools that I am not currently using.  That may sound as if I am particularly stupid, but it is a consequence of using the knowledge that I have and then asking if we can push it further.  I am seeing that I can more or less dream up an idea using existing web tools to find that it IS possible to implement.

Its ironic how anti social it can be devoting your time to social media and communicating with people is a welcome release.  However anti social it maybe, but it does work.  Our hits are growing every day.  Our organic traffic seems to be on the up too.  This is where we are being found by searches and recognised by the search engines as a viable solution to the search

Today I will devote some time to getting more Twitter followers, Tweet via bit.ly, My Space, Dig and Stumble upon.  Time allowing I may also Bleet.

If you have some time allowing, please become a fan on Facebook Yap Yap OK.  Better still check us out and place a free classified ad

So untill next time xx

I am back on Blogger. Posterous has its place, indeed I will be Posterousing later to fulfill my potential web building links, but Blogger is lovely to use. The problem is I can't make posts pretty by Posturous as its posted via my email account.
Anyway I have been increasingly frustrated in the sudden steady daily drops in my Alexa rankings. I have been working tirelessly with the meta data and social media. The developer assured me that many of her clients and herself were also experiencing problems.
No sooner have we decided that we needed a meeting to discuss the possible changes in the Google algorythm then it all changed back again. I can report an upward movement in Alexa by 140000. Woop Woop!
The other thing that I wanted to talk about was Bleetbox. I have Bleeted on a couple of occasions but not realised that I could also Digg and Stumble via Bleetbox. This creates greater interlinking for my web lines. Maybe this is why my Alexa ranks are growing!
YapYapOk free UK classifieds is firmly on the map!

The forum is eating a vast amount of my time.  Clearly it is not worth tweeting an empty forum for too long as sooner or later despite the hugely gratifying hits, the browsers will get bored.  Now I am adding information to the forums in order to make it worth Yapping about.

We have a recipe forum.  I can do this ish.  My mother is a trained chef and has always kept up to date with techniques and ingredients, it rubs off.  Whilst they may not rank well in the mitchelin kitchen they are tasty and simple enough for most people to follow.

Our gardening forum is looking well frankly empty.  My gardening knowledge amounts to planting seeds for herbs and some basic vegetable planting.  Care etc is not my forte.  If they grow, then great.  I can cope with minor infestations of some pests such as mealy bug.  Beyond that I am hopeless.  My mum on the other hand is an excellent gardener.  Not only does she successfully look after a complex array of bi annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetables.  She also has a qualification in horticulture and knows most plants by their Latin name.  Clearly for this forum to take off, it needs some input from her.

We have also started a forum on household tips.  This was inspired after my husband came in with half of his new white stone island jumper covered in black engine oil.  I have been washing clothes long enough to know that this needed more than a Dr Beckman or Stain Devil application.  Hopefully in time our new forum will be such a great source of useful information it will be used as a one stop shop with information flowing freely.

We are lucky to have secured a talented investment banker who will drop hints and tips on the stockmarket.  So watch this Investment forum,  he will be a constant presence on the site in case you are in need of his services!

Our hit rate is a little stagnant as it is difficult to spread myself so thinly.  Most of this will grow with time, but I want it all now.  So if your reading this and you are a budding chef, gardener, or if you like to review books, films or games, then register now, "knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practise"

Ultimately the forum is there for fun, interaction& information.  It will support the advertisers and the browsers who choose to utilise the YapYapOK free classified website

Sometimes during the course of any project, you can feel the enthusiasm wain slightly.  Not that I am any less enthusiastic, just that I have hit a brick wall.  The (brilliant) developer is working on the site this week and has had some really amazing ideas on how to progress the site further.  Coupled with the implementation of the new phone number system we will be a site to be reckoned with.

The phone number system will automatically convert phone numbers to a personalised 070 number.  This is not a premium rate number, although it is more expensive than conventional numbers.  Revenue generated will go towards running the website.  Clearly these costs will be paid by the buyer as opposed to the seller.  Business will be able to compensate the buyers as their over heads will be less and they can be more competitive.  This is a win win situation.

It will also mean that we will be able to offer free business hosting as well as free personal classifieds and also entire shop listing for the foreseable future.

YapYapOK free classified offers all the great functionality of the most popular selling sites and more.
Created on: 2/3/2010 9:44:38 AM
Today I have been ordered off the website whilst some new improvements are made.

We are in partnership with a UK company which changes the advertisers phone number.  Its not premium rate but is more expensive than conventional calls.  This will enable us to pass on extra benefits to our customers.  We anticipate that all of the classifieds including high ticket sales such as property and cars to be free - always.  We are also aiming to provide a free shop hosting service to businesses selling high volumes of stock via a YapYapOK free shop.  Providing that this system is utilised by our sellers properly then this is a great way forward.

Clearly anyone running their business from YapYapOK will have lower costs which enables them in turn to pass this on to the end user, this will more than compensate the buyer for the cost of the call  So this is a win win situation.  YapYapOK has only a few partners so there are no stock holders to keep happy.  Phone calls are charged at between 12p and 21p.

So if you want to be a part of the next big selling site on the net, join us now! YapYapOK free UK classified has all the functionality of a complex sales sites with none of the charges!

Since my last post my Alexa rankings have remained static. Well it was only yesterday. Usually after I have had a nice big jump up, I take a small one back. So in order to stem the backward tide I am pushing ever forward. According to results from Google, Alexa update their stats weekly. Unless you are in the elite (top 100,000) where you can expect a daily update. I can't say for sure but I believe that mine, therefore all, have updated on a bi-weekly basis.
Talking of stats, I check the analysis everyday to see how and where our traffic is from. An important aspect of the analysis is keywords & which keywords are being used to find us. Sometimes it is the advert that has been placed that does the talking, We have had several views as a consequence of having adverts for Tim Cotterill. Both Prowler & Flipper have been used. Some of the keywords are obscure, blog followers may remember the Keyword phrase "woman seeking animal" which resulted in our site being found. For the record, we are not that kind of site, Beastiality is illegal in the UK & still carries the death penalty. Once again I digress, the key phrases I found interesting were , "tammy chater jewellery" & "tammy chater cyprus". Wow, thats me, I used to have a jewellery shop & I am currently in Cyprus. So secretly I am a little flattered, not at all spooked & wondering just who has looked for me. Maybe an old boyfriend. Well I would like to think so! Having said that, why not just find me on Facebook. OR join YapYapOK Free Classified Facebook & plug your ad! We have more fans than I have friends. So whilst your there.....

More ads have appeared on the YapYapOK Free UK Classified site over night, so clearly something is working!

I have once again become obsessed with Alexa Ranking.  Clearly they update more than once a week because....da da daaaaaa.  We are now ranked at 2,255,551  thats a jump of approx 62000 in 2 days!

We also have 5 sites linking in, bizarrely we have many more than that.  I have linked from Posturous and in turn, Blogger, Stumble etc  In fact I personally must create several links from at least 15 different social media on a daily basis, Twitter must be more like 30 plus every day!

Even more bizarre was the fact that 2 of the links were completely unbeknown to me.  So  I wonder why they did & indeed how they found us.  Maybe all those links via the other social sites.

Today I have to report our new YapYapOK YouTube video featuring the song "Rich Girl" by Gwen Stefani went live yesterday!

We really wanted to put on Dire Straights "Money for Nothing".  It  went brilliantly with the video, they are British & I am a huge fan.  One night in Sept 2009, a great friend & I spent several drunk hours listening to Dire Straights on YouTube. I have always loved the Alchemy live version of Sultans of Swing, man can he play guitar.  I also love Romeo & Juliet.  Tracy was telling me how sexy Mark Knopfler was.  Well I had always loved the music but really had never seen the sex appeal so it was enlightening to watch him practically snogging the mic, singing in that sexy drawl "I can't do anything but be in love" 'n strumming.  Now I too have a very grown up crush.

So,  If there is anyone out there who knows Mark, and thinks he might mellow to the idea of allowing us free use of his record then please do get in touch.  Who knows it might even bring him in some more record sales!  So Mark  - You 'n me, how bout it

In the spirit of links YapYapOK free UK classifieds

OOh & I did at last publish my recipe for Scotch Eggs Gourmet a la Chates  - Mark might like that, he was born in Scotland you know!

The best UK free Classified just got FREE-R

YapYapOK is funded by a personal number system costing between 12 and 21p per minute.    Whilst the phone number system is not mandatory at present, we hope that our advertisers will utilise this system to allow us to continue operating a free and superior advertising medium to all!

Removing overheads encourages our advertisers to offer competitive prices  which more than compensates the cost of the calls!

Clearly this has huge benefits for any advertiser particularly businesses.  Where else can you host a shop with superior functionality with no listing fees, joining fees, or final sellers fees?  The more users take part the more we can improve our product so that we become the ultimate selling platform not just for businesses but also for anyone selling high ticket items such as houses and cars.

To see how an ad displays click here.  This advertiser has utilised the picture gallery and taken the embed code from a YouTube video which displays underneath.  All ads are presented in this stunning format.

We also operate a fun informative forum which enables the advertiser to promote and link to their adverts.  They can  interact with customers, answer questions and build customer loyalty and branding.

Its Valentines Day.

I have nothing new  to report today except on a personal matter.  I seem to have developed an intolerance to barley.  Not over night.  its been quite a long time & actually only discovered by abstinance.  My favourite drink is beer.   I drink it every day, not excessively but everyday non-the-less.  I love wine, but given the choice I would rather have developed an intolerance to that.

My symptoms are extreme neck pain which travels from the base of my skull and then into my neck & shoulders.  I am no wimp but this is sickening pain.  I always believed tha it was a result of a slight curvature which I have due to a problem vertebra further down which required some reinforcing.  So imagine my relief when the pain gradually lessens over a couple of days of non drinking.  At the time I did not put the two together although I did report to my husband that my neck pain had disappeared after about a week.

After a couple of weeks we  had our friend Investor Morse over for dinner & he bought over a lovely bottle of port.  I had a couple of small glasses and did not suffer any effects the next day.  About a week later I had a small glass of brandy.  Still nothing.  Then I had another beer.  Within 10 minutes of 1/2 pint of Bavarian lager I had excruciating pain & felt unwell.  This was reminiscent of a previous incident so I Googled it.

Had this occured with any alcohol it could have been one of several disorders.  The fact that I am able to drink other alcoholic beverages points to a barley intolerance.  Now I have read that it is possible to reprogram your body to tolerate potential allergens providing you abstain from the culprit "food" for a minimum of 6 months.  So here goes.

If I start posting pictures of me in a bikini in the next few weeks then clearly there will have been some other benefits, however it may be better to all who read this that I don't.  Along with other more mature ladies, we start to get body dysmorphic disorder as we get older.  However instead of thinking our bodies are worse than they are we think they are better!

Happy Valentines day.  If your alone consider advertising in the personals, sometimes fate needs a push.

Sometimes when i start blogging, I really have no idea which direction that the blog will go.  It surprises me that a seamingly lack of new material will turn into my best blogs.  I have to say that was not true of yesterdays blog.  I was below par, so my apologies.

Last night I made an effort to write a couple of topics for today, that and the advent of new adverts means that I am spoilt for choice.  Over night  we have had 2 seperate dog breeders list several adverts.  Both breed blue eyed husky dogs.  One I think is in wales (husky puppies in wales) and the other in Essex (husky puppies in essex), so totally unconnected.  The breeders in Wales also breed English Bull Dogs.

My main reason for blogging is Stumble Upon.  It is by far my favourite method of social media.  Apart from attracting a great audience, its very little effort.  The reason for this is you can't submit the same page to SU twice under the same login.  . I am friggin SU.  How?  By Bleet box!  Obviously I could set up various SU accounts, but that rather defeats the time issue.

After I have submitted my page by Stumble, I Bleet the page under the guise of Bleet It.  I Stumble the bleet page which recognises the page as a submission under a seperate username, hence I double my submission.  Clever & quick.

I  have joined Tweet adder as a demo, but think that I may have to buy a licensed version.  The demo is amazing and I think that this will prove to be a very canny & time saving investment, more on this tomorrow.

I have yet to Buzz but hope to explore this later!

YapYapOK - a new class of classified

PS  My latest catchphrase is "YapYapOK - where we drive traffic to your ad"

It will ultimately lead to a YapYapOK - yapping your ad, or something like, needs more thought maybe!

Alexa rank hmmm!

Apparently you should not look at your ranking every day.  Why?  Because of the way Alexa moves round recording results.  As other sites progress, even though yours may have too, theirs go up displacing your until the next time Alexa looks at your site.  Since our site traffic was up by over 50% I doubt that we had gone down.  I attribute this to my new Twitter tool which I will blog about tomorrow.  You really need to read that one.  Loads of traffic with much, MUCH less effort!

Anyway on a very happy cheery note I must report on the YapYapOK shops.  Anyone with a shop will now see other items in that shop at the bottom of their advert.  Take a look at this link for The Mini Book Store on YapYapOK.

There have been some other improvement such as the layout.  The contact details are now to the side of the picture whilst the remaining pictures display underneath.  Then the newly formated text.  This means that users can see the pictures at a glance without scrolling to the bottom.  The front page now displays 8 of the newest classifieds so they stay there longer! Take a peep at the  YapYapOK home page

Also each displaying page will show 36 results which we feel is an optimum number.  It means that you don't have to scroll through loads of pages if only a small number were displayed.  The picture gallery makes it easy for the browser.  By hovering the mouse over the picture a brief outline will drop down.  The user will only drill in to the ad if this matches their requirements.

Whilst that may mean less traffic to your advert, it also enables a quick user friendly system for potential buyers which will draw them back time and time again.  It also means that the adverts are only getting specifically targeted traffic which is after all what counts.  If I need to convince you just check out other classifieds and scroll through heir systems. they really do not encourage you to go back.  I would go as far to say that you would only use these if you felt that there was no alternative.

Our YapYapOK YOUTUBE vid is getting a few hits, OK its not great but budgets are tight, and its not as if you look for commercials on YouTube.  Hence we called it by the song and not the website!

I still feel sure that Dire Straits would have encouraged viewings.  C'mom Mark!

Today is a good day!

YapYapOK is getting amazing hits and there is a lot of positivity both personally and professionally.

The sun is out and we are hoping to finish some crucial developmental work before we start some real marketing.  Social networking has proved immensely successful in establishing the YapYapOK brand.  Our hit rate continues to grow and adverts are appearing regularly.  This gentle progression has enabled us both to identify where we need to position ourselves & to see where we need to concentrate our development efforts.  Our revenue stream is established and we need to do a little more work in incorporating it before we go for the big push.

Having a restricted budget has at times been frustrating.  It is only with the benefit of hindsite that I can see that it was absolutely critical.  We have been able to see the glitches in the system which have required a little polishing, we have been able to strengthen and secure the site against hackers and we have been able to implement minor changes to the upload process to make this system easier to use.

So a big thankyou to everyone who has helped and supported us so far.

My brother -  for coming up trumps and supporting us when we need it most, thankyou Shane, my mum for all her help and input, my friend and co worker Helga seriously the most talented developer and psycholgist, genius!   I'd like to thank Tracy for her believing in us  & Iain my oldest friend for his advice and encouragment.

Ok Oscars over, now is the time for some serious work!

Stats, Tracks & Hacks!!!

Some who know me well we know that I love anything with numbers.  I loved maths & achieved the highest results in my class at A level.  I am not intimidated by formula.  In fact unlike any other subject, you can get the answers wrong and still get great scores.  To me that is a win win situation & I think maths get bad press.

So I suppose it is only natural that I enjoy the statistics behind web views.  I have a number of tracking codes installed on the site, I am great with viewing the system log.  I take great confort in seeing where all our visits are from, where they were referred etc.  The system log literally shows every visit & action on the site.  I often randomly select IP addresses to see how they correlate with the various trackers that I have.  Whilst this is superfluous ,reading the stats, the entry pages and in particular the referral sites is very useful.  Yesterday for example someone I am familiar with was reading blogger and clicked on the link for the lotto which was advertised by one of my US users.  This is particularly interesting & flattering as these visitors are web designers themselves.  Another old friend visited the site and her brother who is a web designer has shown great interest in it,  I am being sent many well wishes and compliments on a great web site.

I know which social sites refer not just the most traffic but also the most relevant.  Twitter is great as a numbers game, clearly excellent for rankings, but very little of it is relevant.  Other sites require a tiny amount of work and drive high volume target traffic to the site.  These are particularly rewarding but the small amount of work is limited because of imposed restrictions.

So whilst numbers, stats etc can be dull for many, they are vital in measuring and driving traffic to any website.  If it fills you with dread, then start by looking at the maps, then the IP adresses.  One of the programs I use actually gives me the name, address, telephone number and email address of the user.  We have in the early stages been a victim of hack attemps.  This is an invaluable tool if site security is an issue.  Every action is recorded by the system log within the individual website.  Our hack attempt was recorded on our website log with the actual IP alongside.  It is important that if this is evident that pictures, or screen shots are taken as evidence.  You can then match this IP using various free tools on the web.  Hackers will often "throw" their IP to another country, as they did with us.  However in our case their server provider was not disguised.  Foolishly they had a dedicated server and we had undeniable proof with a screen shot of the attempts, the site, the system log and the various tracking programs we used.

Hack attempts are rare but a real threat to this industry.  The law is harsh, & rightly so on offenders.  If like us you are fortunate that this happens early then you can use it to your advantage.  We were able to tighten up security on the site, we were also able to trace the offenders easily.  Our developer was employed as a site hacker for some of the largest global banks & this has been an invaluable advantage.  Hacking attempts are intended to be destructive, if, like us, this is more of a nuisance than a catastrophy, then learn fronm it, work with it.  Who know, you may even get to love the stats!

My last post "Stats, Tracks & Hacks" was a serious blog about tracking your visitors & site security.

I am feeling much more light hearted today.  It was our good friend, Investor Morse's birthday bash, come serious seminar yesterday.  He had a some guest speakers including us.  A huge thanks goes to Helga for a light, concise & professional representation of YapYapOK.

After a very brief but informative seminar we were treated to fantastic food a free bar and some great entertainment.  Fortunately we  had arranged child care so were able to enjoy the event to the full.  It reminded me of previous conferences I  attended when I worked in the pharma industry.  The implication is work, but the reality is far different.  It also amazes me how many people we knew when we arrived, also the mindset of the ones we didn't know.  I suppose when you are in a room full of very successful business men & woman, the room is full of positive energy.  Everyone was there to share ideas, investment etc.  No one had anything to prove, they had done that already!

So I have taken some of this energy with me.  I am still working, but I am feeling much less pressure.  This is also a combination of the website really starting to go.  Site visits are up over 500% on a month ago.  We are amazed how quickly the public are buying into the concept of our shop hosting and classified platform.  But then why wouldn't they.  If we compare it to even paid listing sites then we have superior functions.  If we compare it to free sites, well what can I say??!!

The only way they currently win is traffic, but this is changing.  We are delighted to have so much support.  We will continual to promote individual ads on the huge range of tools at our fingertips.  If you haven't joined yet, then go on, its free, its fun, its interactive.  Be part of a winning team!

Inevitably the time has come to spend some of our  budgets on advertising.

Social media has played a great part in developing the site while we have been in beta.  It has enabled a slow organic growth where we have identified key improvements.  Feedback has been positive and helped us keep focus.

We will now put our fingers in several advertising pies & see what happens.  Twitter amongst others has given us a high hit rate and we are delighted with that.  It is however un-targeted.  We welcome anyone to place an ad on the site irrelevant of where you are.  We have a massive US following so there are clear advantages for anyone there expanding their web presence and advertising on our site.  An enormous amount of Twitter traffic comes from the US, since I Tweet every advert then this has huge benefits to our US visitors.

Our advertising will limited for the time being to the UK.  Once we have a significant amount of adverts placed daily then we will launch our .com version for the US on a US server with ads dedicated to the US.

Fingers in the pies and ready, lets see if we can pull out The Plum!

A recent advert on YapYapOK prompted me to write a book review.  The advert was for the book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.  This is completely off topic, but it is Saturday!

The book is a powerful story about life in Afghanistan.  The story tells much more about the Afghan people under the Taliban, their culture and their integrity in spite living in extreme poverty or escaping to the west having left everything they ever owned.

It brings me back to one of the things my mother has maintained throughout my life, "people are essentially good".  Sometimes it appears as if the reverse is true, but if you take the time to evaluate any situation, as a race we shine.  We rally together in the face of disaster to help save lives & bring aid to those in desperate need.  I am quite a sensitive soul & I believe that if we are in a position of power, then it is our moral duty to give some of our excess resources.

I hope that I have illustrated this in the way that I conduct myself.  It is of vital importance to me that YapYapOK provides socially, the curse is really knowing which direction to channel resources.

I used to be a big animal charity supporter.  I no longer agree with the way the RSPCA is run.  I hated the way they fought a ruling supporting a family member who contested her fathers will.  It was unnecessary and inhumane.  I should imagine it was also very bad for PR.  The RSPCA is one of the richest charities in the world, clearly the British love their animals, but recent events draw me to conclude that the RSPCA conforms much more to goverment standards then it does inn representing animal welfare.

I still love animals and with a never ending pot of money I would still support them.  Since I became a mother, my priorities have changed.  I am now much more likely to support child welfare charities than any other.  The problem is knowing which ones.

So, please support us, just join up and list your ads.  Its free!

Our website generates revenue from personal numbers, (limited to UK sellers), By implementing this on your advert, we can support others!

We will be generating a similar number system in the US in the future.  It is not mandatory, we hope that business who host shops will utilise it.  Perhaps they can offer competitive pricing to compensate the higher call costs.

Pressure makes Diamonds
One of the categories which seems to be filling up nicely is the animal ads, in particular the dogs.

We have breeders and a pet matching service who have recently joined up.  Of particular note is the cute little capuchin monkey photographed in a dress.  The monkey I love, the dress, I mean white.  I struggle with white, my 9 year old is incapable of wearing white for more than am millisecond without staining it.

The ads are coming in thick & fast now.  We have adverts for hotels, computers, iphones, cameras, ipods, mp3s, mens gadgets, clothing, jewellry, dvds, music, escort service, taxi, games consoles, a huge range of collectables and property in the UK, Spain, Egypt, Dubai and Cyprus.  There is a huge range of business opportunities and even a charity.   Please forgive me if I have left your ad out.  But they are really becoming too numerous to mention.

All of these ads are added on to our Tweet Adder and Twittered in rotation 24 hrs a day.  I strongly recommend this program.  I no longer babysit my Twitter account.  By spending 20 minutes a day I can maximise my results, but you don't even need to do that!  I can now go on holiday and know that my Tweets are being Twittered, my following is growing and my new follower receive a welcome message with a link to the site.

Our Alexa rankings continue to climb.  I have been looking at other sites to see how well they rank, & more importantly why.  One comparable site I knew to be only a few months old ranks amazingly well in Alexa.  I studied the history of the domain and found that whilst the site was new, the domain was not.  The company had bought a well ranked domain and re hashed it.  This is a great short cut, will save you either loads of money or loads of time.  A well ranked site generally gets much more traffic.  More traffic equals more sales.

There is a direct correlation of visitor numbers & hours spent in front of a computer working the site.  I can measure this daily & consequently I feel that when I am not working, I am not pushing the site, or working hard enough for the partners.  In a nutshell "The harder I work, the luckier I get!"

Without a rich heart, wealth is an ugly beggar.

Completely off topic!

I have had a frustrating evening and then morning.  I dropped my MAC wireless mouse on the floor and it broke into several pieces rendering it useless.  My wireless Mac keyboard has been going through batteries at an alarming rate, they seem to coincide with the mouse and so there are never enough batteries in the charger.  I dont know who thought of wireless keyboards or mice but they need braining.  If you do any amount of work on a computer they always seem to run out of batteries at the least opportune moment eg in the middle of a very important skype call when you are exchanging files.

I was anticipating a long and expensive wait for some new mac accessories, so it was a pleasant surprise to see that my mac is compatable with both my mouse and keyboard from my PC.  The good luck vibe is still holding and I am never getting wireless again.

This is actually not my first wireless disaster.  My last PC the sony VA10, which I love, came with a wireless keyboard.  At the time I was not working full time on computers so the battery problem really was not an issue.  What was an issue was that after my son split his drink on the keyboard, and despite me taking off every key and cleaning it with alcohol, it was ruined.  This was not compatible with anything other than another sony VA10 and cost £100 to replace plus the inconvenient 7 days it took to arrive!

I love griping when the moment has passed.  It reminds me that I have very little to gripe about.  I refrain from griping immediately  after any disapointing event.  It only sounds negative, and no one wants to be a part of that.  I also refrain from retaliating in an argument or complaining to anyone else.  After all that is when you are most heated and likely to say things you will regret.

I was not always been so disciplined, this has come with age and experience.  I suspect that I am now more patient and tolerant of people too.  I once worked in mental health and have a fair understanding of how  depression can affect rational and personality.  I am more likely to see an angry person as an unhappy one and can therefore make allowances.

What I don't understand is when people yield power just because they can.  I have experienced it twice recently, from the most unexpected sources.  It hurt most because they were people who we held in very high regard.  But life has a way of working things out and help came from where we least expected it.  I consider myself a very lucky person.  I have a very supportive family, I am happily married to the most tolerant man and I am also incredibly proud of my happy go lucky son.

My friends must be the best that there are, some I have not seen for years , but the internet helps me keep in touch.  The support and feedback that I have received are so motivating and productive.

So in a hail of trumpets, I am off to count my numerous blessings before emotion gets the better of me.

Seventy percent of success in life is showing up!

YapYapOK is getting some massive hits.  Having been involved in several websites before, it has come as a surprise how easily you can market one with social media.

Of course we have spent some money  on marketing, but this is comparatively small.  Knowing what I know now, I believe that 4 hrs a day of dedicated online marketing can bring massive growth with any seo friendly website.  Clearly I have spent a great deal of time learning my way around the various social media applications.  Some I have joined and not really utilised.  Others have been a constant tool.

I have also spent a disproportionate amount of time, sat in front of the computer 7 days a week trying to push the YapYapOK site.  In my case Twitter was by far the most rewarding.  It was also the most time consuming.  Twitter is just a numbers game.  the law of probability definitely plays a key part in click through rate.  The more followers you have the better your chances.  The more proactive Tweeting is also paramount. Clearly then the aim is to create a massive following and combine it with Tweeting 24 hrs a day, remember when the UK sleeps the huge American market wakes up.  They are huge Twitterers.

Managing your Twitter account is now so easy.  I use Tweet adder and it has been one of my few indulgences in web marketing.  There is a free version but I strongly recommend the professional.  It starts at $59 for one website, or you can buy a better version for less than $100 which manages 5 sites.  There is no penalty for buying the small one and upgrading later.

The free version is so limiting in that it will only Tweet a few times a day, also it automatically deletes the Tweets after posting.  The pro system enables you to rotate your Tweets either in the order or randomly.  It also searches for followers, deletes followers and automatically messages and replies.

I had a conversation this morning with my good friend Iain. He is fantastic at  marketing and has several very successful businesses which rely on the internet.  He was having problems targeting his Twitter traffic. I told him that whilst un-targeted traffic did not bring business, it did drive him up the ranks which in turn gives his site more exposure to his target market.

I too had to come to terms with this.  However the ranking continues to climb and I am at last getting more of my target market which is resulting in lots of new adverts.

Since the YapYapOK site hosts classifieds and shops allowing for huge numbers of keywords.  We have a huge number of keywords that are created with every advert.  The more designer these words are, the more likely that the site comes up with the keywords.  Alas also the more competition.  However what also happens is that because of the massive range of products, our site comes up more and more with the results.  The search engines recognise that the YapYapOK site comes up more than say a more specific site and pushes us up even higher.

Some ads that are coming up in the keywords are Christian Louboutin Shoes, Stone house Cyprus, Old stone house Paphos,  Zoppini, John Hine, Mokabista and bizarrely my name.

Today is definitely mufty day.  I am sat in front of the mac, freshly showered but not yet dressed, no not naked either.

I have not yet had breakfast but I am so keen to keep pushing the site forward in response to recent Alexa movement.  This seems to be a great way to create inward links from very well ranked sites.  Blogging on Blogger, Posturous, Linkedin, Ning, Myspace  & Facebook is obligatory if you want to travel upwards in the rankings on a budget.

In effect you are programming forward pointing links with some of the best ranked global sites.  Linking with a short key phrase attached to the web name creates instant recognition.  For example YapYapOK free classifieds or YapYapOK free shop hosting creates a name, a relationship and most of all relevance.  Click here does not!

Blogging regularly via all the mediums available enables the social marketeer to continue building more links towards the site resulting in numerous digital pathways which help search engines find your site.  This is specially valuable with new sites struggling to be noticed by bots.

New to the site is our Kontera links.  You may notice some of the text on the site is now underlined.  These are ad links and are another way to monitise any website.  Clearly well visited websites are going to be infinitely more profitable than ones with no traffic.  YapYapOK free classifieds  lends itself perfectly to this type of revenue.  All ads have the potential for ad links.  The vastness of the categories means that  ultimately many thousands of ad links can be crated on the site.

Whilst this morning I will enjoy a very informal dress code, I look forward to my friday "meeting" with the YapYapOK developer.  Today we will be mainly playing poker!!!!

Ok will lose, she is a genius and a maths geek.....think Rainman.

Poker vs The Stock Market

Genuinely I have been very anti gambling & very pro investment.  Whilst I am too scared to play poker for money, I do now understand that actually, for me, the reverse is true.  I have spent too long listening to experts predict share prices with little understanding of the fundamentals.  Sentiment plays too big a part in stock broking and the only real jargon I understand is the gearing and obviously the dividend.  Poker on the other hand can be understood very quickly, unlike other types of gambling, you can play games only when the odds are in your favour.

Since we are talking about playing the odds as opposed to gambling, I believe that girls make better poker players than men.  Admittedly my experience of this is limited to one afternoon at poker, although my experience of men is far more than that!  Make of that what you will!

Fundamentally men react with testosterone.  Couple that with a little poker adrenaline and its easy to see how they can bet their homes, their cars, and their wives.  Conversely woman tend to be risk averse.  Ok I am generalising.  I am the one responsible in our home for higher risk investments, but risky gamble, no way!

Perhaps I am making too much of this.  Our friendly game could easily have become anything but.  The girls played as if the play money  was real, we played the poker odds and despite some regrets at folding preflop became the ultimate champions.  The men, gambled on hands that should have been renegated to the bottom of the pile, had some amazing luck and looked like they would win through.  They were also predictably arrogant.

Long term, playing against the odds will never pay, everyone will inevitably be dealt some luck, we all have access to the same cards in the pack.   By playing only safe hands with an unpredictable betting strategy will help fill the pot.  With the odds in your favour, long term strategy and knowing when to bow out must be a winning combination for even amateur players.

Clearly this has little to do with the website YapYapOK.  But it is a little like investment.  You dont need to gamble in poker to win.  Like investment, you know what is infront of you when you choose your investment.  Certainn outside factors may effect the value of that investment after you have bought into it.  These factors may effect the value negatively, in investment you can pull out at a loss or hope or hope that better news may come soon.  Like investment, a great poker hand can look mediocre after the flop.  Time to cut your losses and fold.  Alternatively a flop can make a good hand great, up your ante and your odds on to win!

Coincidentally, I learnt to play poker this week ( yes am winning), and this morning an advert appeared labelled Make Money with Forex  on YapYapOK free classified site,  aka the foreign exchange market.  This is a bit like shares, although maybe a little clearer for Joe Punter to get their head around.  Unlike shares, this is "betting" on currency.  Many banks offer this facility and I have various members of my family who have found it to be extremely lucrative.

So this was completely off topic, but it is Saturday & I am getting ready to join my husband and son on the beach with about  a few friends and their children a very generous barbeque and lots of wine.

To make this fully worthwhile  - YapYapOK free business and classified ads

Yesterdays picnic on the beach turned into a late night.

It was meant to be one of my sons birthday parties.  They started out a paintball and  then went down to the wooded picnic area on the beach.  The boys played football climbed trees and we all ate flatbreads and salad with chicken and peppers kebabs.  They baked potatoes in the coals and there were bowls of every salad imaginable with great fruit platters for after.

These had to be the most organised parents I have seen.  They bought along lots of party games including hoopla, pinnata, organised bubble blowing competitions & another game involving blindfolds string and lollys.  the games were staggered over the course of several hours while the hostess had us in hysterics with her quick wit and sense of humour.

It was without question the best childs party I have ever attended, helped along by the free flowing wine.  It was late when we left and we would have offended had we not agreed to go back to the house for birthday cake, more food and more drink.

Consequently it has taken a little while to be able to get myself together to talk about yet more progress on YapYapOK.  Over night I can see that there have been more users joining the website.  Again we woke to more ads which I have been busy adding to my automatic tweeting system.

In light of even more activity, i decided to again check our Alexa ranks.  YapYapOK free shop hosting and classified web site has jumped another 19000 over night.  I know I should not check this often but I cannot help it.

The ads are becoming increasingly diverse.  Our most popular catagory is the pet section.  The last ad for a puppy up for adoption would have sent me clamoring for the phone had it not been based in Australia.  It is one of the cutest I have seen.  Click on this link for English Bulldog on YapYapOK and I'm sure you will agree!

Today is Sunday, I have a house to clean, (viewing later).  Not too worried as I have a second viewing lined up in 2 weeks time for another possible buyer.  The wife has seen it, the husband who works away is flying over to see it.  He saw it first on the internet and made his wife book a viewing.

If your curious it is listed on YapYapOK property.  So do you need further proof that advertising on this site works?  Yes, well what better way than to try it yourself!!

Have a great Sunday.

Rankings continue to soar, social media is exceeding all expectations.

I am considering buying some more Twitter traffic, not as pointless as you may think.  Twitter has single handedly been the biggest success in driving our site.    I repeat that this is a numbers game but its the stats that count.  Once upon a time our visitors would click in and out of the website via the bit.ly links.  Now on average, visitors are viewing 9 pages.  Clearly many of our bit links get a cursory view which  illustrates that if 9 pages is the average, then many visitors are actually viewing far more that.

This is further clarified in our statcounter, I thoroughly recommend statcounter.  This shows every page visited, entry, exit, referrel, key words or search terms, country, IP, server and so much more.  It is also to the minute, unlike google analytics.  There are so many different tools available that they really are too numerous to mention.  Needless to say that referral pages as well as search terms are an excellent way of not only registering what is working, but also enables us to work more efficiently.

YapYapOK has integrated text link advertising.  This is a great way to monitise the site.   Certain text is picked out automatically and linked to adverts.  This is a discreet form of advertising.  Since our site has forums as well as a potential for mass keywords, then this lends itself very well to the YapYapOK site.

Utilising affiliates & employing unique revenue generating systems enable YapYapOK to provide a free classified and business advertising site for all.   We hope that anyone who utilises the YapYapOK as a platform to promote products or build there own shop, will do so with  competitive pricing.  This will bring more visitors to the site which in turn creates a busy online marketplace.

I am off to research some good value Twitter traffic.  Wish me luck!

Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing

In the interest of school sports day today is "Flexiday", hence the ungodly hour that I am blogging for YapYapOK.

Its not so much if my son will win, its more if he will beat any school records.  Forgive me if that sounds arrogant, its not meant to be, I am merely highlighting a fact!

Last year Henry won all but the ball  throwing, he came second in that.  This was because he had not had any practise untill the day.  This year he has practised, come first and then was made to choose between that and long jump. He comes first in that too.

So YapYapOK will have some inward links via this post and little else today, but thats OK.  Its working, today YapYapOK is now ranked at 1,187,201 globally, 211,208 in the UK and 701 in Cyprus.

Targets, YapYapOK free classified and shop hosting, under 1,000,000 in a week.  Henry Chater to have a clean sweep at sports day!!

Fingers crossed!

Perfection is our goal, excellence will be tolerated

He came, he won, he left them tasting dust.   Yes a clean sweep with three races and three firsts.  The only thing they didnt do was the school records this year.  Very disappointing as i think that he may have got the long jump.  I am assuming that since no one in the school achieved his long jump and this was the seniors as well.

A nice surprise for us mums, was the site of the Polish Olympic team of men training in the stadium wearing only very small tight shorts.

YapYapOK is OUT OF BETA!!!

Our personal number system has been reintegrated to cleverly only convert phone numbers of UK users.  This is now altered when the phone numbers are saved so does take a little while for UK users, (up to 50 seconds) this is I'm afraid unavoidable and due to the third party system installed.

Now that YapYapOK is out of beta we are ready to start pushing the site to the masses.  It seems as if we are at the end of the first part of the journey.   YapYapOK is a complex site which has had more than its fair share of associated issues, particularly in the early days.  The creases have ironed out and we are fortunate to have a great team behind it.  In particular Helga, who has proved to be the developer I instinctively knew she was.

I was unable to find a program worthy of investing in re buying Twitter Traffic.  I did find a new Tweet adding system which looked to be fabulous.  It was much more expensive than the one I currently have and i would have liked a free trial to ascertain its worth.  Whilst there was a sponsored free trial, it meant buying someone elses software which I did not want, hence not free.  The one months trial would have cost me $30, I didn't check if it was mac compatible either.

Other packages for buying traffic were extraordinarily expensive.  Ideally I would have liked 10 000 more followers.  I can get them by spending about 30 minutes a day on my Adder in about 10 weeks.  So not going to spend hundreds of dollars doing it.  Bear in mind that this is only Twitter Traffic not site traffic, which is also, according to reviews of little value and takes a long time.

My advice for anyone new to internet marketing is stick to the social networking sites, At least the only visitors to look are doing so out of free will.  Its free, its easy and it works.  Wow what a tag line.

YapYapOK - its free its easy and it works!

It is easier to get forgiveness than permission

I am having to put in some extra man hours today with my blogging, why because my Twitter account has been suspended.

To be fair I have been pushing the limits for a while, however I had expected a warning rather than a suspension.  Also I had read that limits were 1000 to follow and unfollow a day.  I have kept albeit a little under these limits only to find that this is not true.

I love Twitter, as you know.  I blog about it all the time.  I genuinely think that an email letting me know that I am breaching the rules rather than a suspension would have been a more customer friendly approach.  However, I have conceded and sent them a grovelling email acknowledging my guilt and promising to be a good girl from now on.

On a positive note, YapYapOK is still progressing up the rankings.  We are now ranked at 1,156,652 globally.  My target for this week is to get under a million and  it is looking likely.  Unfortunately my obsessing culminated in dreaming about it, when I woke this morning I genuinely thought we were at 957,000.  Imagine my devastation when realisation set in.

Not to be deterred, I have created many inlinks to YapYapOK via every social site.  I also looked at Google Buzz.  genuinely i felt that if Google were going to create a social site it would be great.  If I was in at the start then that could only be an advantage, right?  Wrong.!  Its clunky and difficult to navigate.  I could not even find the privacy settings which would enable me to choose a public profile with which to launch a dedicated Buzz to YapYapOK.

If anyone reading this disagrees, let me know.  I am keen to explore any free media which further positively impacts YapYapOK s ranking.

Meanwhile I shall stick to this and Twitter, no, doh!

It’s not cheating unless you get caught.

Twitter has unsuspended my YapYapOK account!

Thank the lord, whilst my rankings had not (yet) suffered I made less of this than I felt.  Utter devastation, It did teach me a good lesson.  No one third party tool can be so valuable again.  Consequently I have tamed my "aggressive" daily follow limits and will not duplicate Tweets in the same day.    I have also looked at Twitter alternatives.  There are no other "microblogs" that can compete with users.  There are however a number of much smaller alternatives.  I already joined Plurck!

I will continue to look at other microblogs over the next few weeks and create accounts to see which works best.  To be fair Twittering or microblogging is a numbers game rather than target marketing.  But it is still free advertising so we will continue to explore as many free social sites to help promote YapYapOK as possible.

The other advantage of a suspended account meant that I took a day off yesterday with the family.  It was actually bank holiday here anyway.  We wnet to look at an old Turkish settlement in the south Troodos mountains South Cyprus.  Actually we found it because my husband took the wrong road to the medievel bridges.  The time we got there it was too late to view but we accidentally stumbled on this instead.

This must be one of the saddest sites I have seen.  The buildings are wrecks, I will post some pics at some point.  Inside there were remains of furniture, cupboards, beds even some clothing.  They had left with what they could carry from their village in the most idyllic setting.  The village probably had about 70 homes, a church stables and taverna.  There were fields of olive trees and almond trees.  Dotted around were figs too.  The surrounding mountains are very green with lots of ceder and pine forests.  Below in the valley was lies the river.

There is much hatred between the Turks and the Cypriots.  The more I learn about the Cyprus Problem the more I see that it is a complex issue which may take years to be resolved, if indeed this ever happens.  Turks have land and property they dont occupy in the South and the Cyps have the same in the North.  Both sides have seen illegal occupation of their property and both sides lost many lives.

I will keep this post brief, I have an enormous amount of work to do on my YapYapOK Twitter account and must pencil in some of the answers on the Riddle page.

A clever man commits no minor blunders

Happy days.

Today is friday and whilst the YapYapOK ranking is not yet under a million it has jumped up again.  We are now at 1090072.  To be fair, to even sustain our ranking with the issues that we had this week is rather good so maybe before the weekend is up we will see even more improvements.

I will keep you all informed.

A little while ago I reported that we had been the victim of hack attempts.  Fortunately it was in the early days and we were able to raise the security on our site.  I may have mentioned that I am something of a stat nerd too.

So get this, yesterday we had visits from the same server via hidemyass.com  Hidemyass.com clearly does not do as the name suggests as my analytics showed the path from the server to hidemyass and onward to the entry page on the YapYapOK website.  Google analytics did not register the site at all, maybe its still in Beta?  Anyway the long and the short of this are, why try to hide your IP?   Can it really be for reasons that can be deemed honest?

I cannot tell lies, the guilt associated with it makes me go beetroot and its too much of a giveaway.  My voice goes squeeky so I cant do telephone lies either.  I think its an endearing quality and one I am proud of.   I have found that since I am clearly not cut out for deciept it is far easier to be honest and truthful, if you fall out with people along the way at least you can hold your head high.

A wise man once said, "often the hardest thing to do and the right thing to do are the same thing".  I have certainly found this to be true.

Have a great weekend!

It’s faith in something and enthusiasm for something that makes life worth living

I am planning ahead by pre-preparing tomorrows YapYapOK blog post today.

I am super organised, out of necessity.  I have been a working mum for 10 years.  Prior to that I worked full time for many years whilst simultaneously studying.  I  am a social creature too.  When todays todo list dries up I start tomorrows todo list, why?  So that I may enjoy time off without any nagging issues.  It is not unusual for me to have the evenings dinner practically prepared at 7 oclock in the morning.  It is not because I enjoy constantly doing, it is more because I so enjoy the feeling of complete relaxation when all todo lists are ticked, dinner is done & the washing pile is empty.

There can be no better feeling of going out for the day without a single care in the world, I relish these as often as possible and I'm prepared to put in the man hours to achieve them.

YapYapOK today has had many UK hits.  This is due to the start of our email marketing campaign.  I am hoping that the inlinks as well as the hit rate will help push those Alexa rankings below the million.  I have a couple of other little tricks up my sleeve & I will share them if they prove a success.

Normally I have a meeting with the talented Helga on friday, sometimes its work and other times its pleasure, its always fun!  Unfortunately commitment to another project left her working most of the night and she was too exhausted to entertain me today.  She is feeling a little redundant on YapYapOK, there is little to be done at present, unless we write some bulk downloads for catalogues, we are letting the site develope organically before we assess new changes or implement some other ideas.

Tomorrow I want to do some work on my YapYapOK Twitter account.  I am so pleased to be back in the Twittering arena.  Irrelevent of its importance in social marketing, its so much fun and the results are instant.

I shall save to drafts in case there are new things to report, meanwhile positive thoughts for Alexa please!!!

Even pirates, before they attack another ship, hoist a black flag.

Just a quickie for inlinks on YapYapOK, well it is Sunday.

The clocks have gone back so really its only 7.15.  Lucky for me my husband changed all the clocks at about 6.00 last night.  Since I didn't know, I was prematurely yawning at 10.00pm.

I am just about to start this evenings supper as we will be out most of the day on one of our mammoth walks.  My husband is setting us up with a full English, so we will get away with a dressed roast fennel salad with baked camembert for later with french stick washed down with cold cider, yummy.

Followers of my blog know that I am intolerant to barley and beer is now off limits.  I have developed a taste for dry cider which is going down fairly well, although probably its not a terribly ladylike drink

The YapYapOK Twitter is working well, we have drawn more unique visitors to our site with more advertisers.  Established advertisers are continuing to use the site too!  This week I plan to do more work on the YapYapOK forum with some more recipes and informative ideas.

Have a great day!

The future you see is the future you get

We did it.  By 11.00 yesterday morning, just as we were leaving home, YapYapOK  ranked 997040 by Alexa.

That means that YapYapOK jumped over 300,000 from the Sunday previous.

Certainly now it will became steadily more difficult to progress up the rankings, but with renewed energy we shall press on.  We aim to get into the top 50,000!

To be honest, I am unsure how the Alexa algorithym works, it seems that they are in bed with Google and are owned by Amazon, higher rankings and high traffic do go hand in hand.  The higher you climb in rankings, the more traffic you get and vice versa.  Its a bit of a chicken and egg thing.  If you  get a significant amount of traffic,  you climb the ranks and therefore get more traffic.  If you are high up the ranking then you are more exposed and get more traffic.

The trick is getting the traffic early on.  With a generous marketing budget you can advertise, without it you have to show some dedication and post as many inward links and free adverts as possible.

It depends on how valuable your time is as to how much of it you want to spend driving traffic and creating links to your site.  The problem with a classified site is that there are alot of them, often already well ranked.  This is why YapYapOK offers so much more than that, ie free shop hosting for businesses.  The advantage of having a free classified site is that you do not really have any competition.  Free classified sites rarely compete with one another, on the contrary you are able to advertise free on their sites.  Craigs list actually has an RSS feed of Tweets containing the word "classified", consequently we had over 63 referrels from them in a week.  Having said that, clearly it would be nice to rank better than the others!

I made the mistake of thinking that other classifieds were my competition.  Just because a site offers a similar service to you, does not automatically make them the competition.  Generally advertisers of free sites, post on as many different ones as possible.  Similarly many online marketeers don't use one just one Social Networking site to market their business.  Facebook and Twitter are certainly not competitors, they both enable sites to market themselves freely across their networks in very different ways.

I have managed many inlinks in this blog, my work is done!

Winners never quit and quitters never win

I managed a rare but glorious lie in today, still sleepy I thought I'd make the teas and bring them back to bed.  Normally I come here to do my daily blog.  My husband, on the other hand, has no problems with lie ins and managed to open one eye in recognition of the tea and then roll over on to the other side.  Fear of disturbing him has put me right back in front of the computer.

YapYapOK now advertises all classifieds for 90 days, so there is no need to republish your ads for on going stock.  Clearly this is a far better time allowance for property listings and has advantages for shop owners with stock items.  It may however be less necessary to advertise job vacancies or rare items such as Sonic mega collection plus for a gamecube new in a sealed pack.

My son had the original xbox game but it does not play on the xbox 360, which I think is outrageous.  Originally it was made compatible but Nintendo have changed this to stop the sale of second hand games.

Henry has begged for us to put towards a new game for Easter.  Since the game is for an outdated console, it is incredibly difficult to get new.  I was concerned that a second hand one may be scratched, given the nature of the item.

There were 2 available on Ebay UK.  I bid on one of them an hour before the bid ended and left an automated bidding system in place.  Devastatingly the bids exceeded the price of any new Xbox 360 games.  Not to be put off I searched for a second hand one where maybe the seller checked his items.  I was instantly rewarded by an honest seller who pointed out that this was a little scratched but it played perfectly.  He also honestly pointed out that the game does play on an Xbox 360 but you need the old controls to play it.  We are now very grateful to have been outbid as we would have had a very disapointed 9 year old for Easter.

I have just been looking at my stats, I love looking at the maps that come up to show where your traffic is coming from.  I have 3 stat programs installed on YapYapOK and these with the system log are invaluable.   I always look at the visitor paths as it shows me where my traffic is from, ie the IP address, any referral sites, such as HMA.com or Stumble or Twitter and even which Tweets were the referrals.  This is a great resource for ascertaining traffic source which further enables you to differentiate the superior socila sites and where effort needs concentrating.

YapYapOK is now 895,836 in Alexa with our biggest jump in traffic coming from the UK where we are now ranked at 160,423.  Next is China and then the US.

More great news is that we have been accepted by one of the better ad agencies who only apply appropriate ad material to relevant pages on the site.  This has a clear advantage for advertisers but also to users of our site, it creates an element of choice.   The admin team had a good look at YapYapOK, saw that we met the required minimum traffic and have given us the go ahead.  So soon you will see ads appearing on all our pages.  This agency also pay larger percentages than any other ad agency we have found, and believe me when I say I have looked.  It would be good to finally have the YapYapOK server paid for.

Here's looking for a profitable start to April where we can continue to pass on the benefits of free advertising to all our users!

Its'a pleasure doing business with you!

YapYapOK appreciates the support from all advertisers.

It takes a certain amount amount of faith to invest your most precious resource, time, into an unknown quantity such as a new site.  The feedback we are getting is that the time you invested has paid off as  YapYapOK has proven itself to be a viable free alternative to regular pay to list sites.

Our edge comes in utilising social media to promote your ads on the YapYapOK site.  RSS feeds drive many ads to target sites by identifying specific keywords on Twitter.  A good example of this is the husky puppies advert.  This ended up on a Twitter feed to a husky dog information site at the top of their home page.  A Tracy Chapman cd fed into a Tracy Chapman website giving it full exposure to all her fans.

We are enjoying receiving the positive feedback letting us know that our site is working for you, keep it coming.  If there is something you would like to see, tell us and we will evaluate it.

At YapYapOK we welcome all business and classified listings.  all ads are submitted to our Twitter feed and we randomly select others to appear on our blogs, Facebook and many others.  If you wish to join us on Facebook and draw attention to your own ad, then feel free........ Free, thats a nice word!

Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid altogether

This is a quickie for in links to the best UK classified site.

I once remember a good friend of mine asking what drives me, I remember answering that its because I am lazy.  She replied that I was the least lazy person I know.

Not true I am lazy, but with a plan.  I work hard so that I don't have to later.  I am 20 years on still waiting for later but I anticipate it coming soon.

Dont get me wrong, doing nothing is not all its cracked up to be either.  I know, I once went through a stage in my life where I had a few months not working. The bliss in the beginning was  great, but lets face it.  There is only so much Jeremy Kylie anyone can stomach.  I watched Jeremy Kylie out of curiosity, then because it gave me a superiority complex.  I mean any one who goes on the show must know that they will look like morons and we all feel so much cleverer (is that a word) than them!

I would at this point like to acknowledge my brother Shane for his input on the riddle forum.  A few have driven me nuts, and some were very easy.  Some I don't get even with the answers.  He also just put his Pentax camera on the site,  Shane if your looking I Twittered it to my thousands.

We continue to draw global traffic and with this comes the adverts.  By my next blog there will be adverts all over YapYapOK.  I spent some of yesterday choosing the format in keeping with YapYapOK.  My developer and I will be uploading either today or tomorrow.

Good Friday = another mufty/poker day!

There seems to be alot of days off in April and I'm unsure how this will impact on my rankings.  So I have decided to continue building inlinks to the UK best classified site.

We should have had our new ads appearing but we are having some hiccups with the code.  I hope that they will be cleared up by today.  Having said that not everyone works over Easter weekend, it may be that we require the help of the company so maybe my optimism is a little stretched.

YapYapOK has been climbing in the ranks but it is now getting harder as our other established sites have the advantage over us.  Help us, register and place an ad.  Alternatively you can promote and link to your blog on our Yap Your Blog Forum.

To register on YapYapOK, simply click on the register button on the top left.  Fill in required spaces.  Check your inbox, or in some cases your spam or junk file and activate your email.

Instructions on how to post a free ad!

Easter Saturday!

My son Henry has a tennis tournament coming up at the end of the month.   My husband has done something top his knee, and although he tends to not let these things get in his way it has become a problem doing exercise.  Hmm, so not to let the team down I have stepped up to the mark.

I have never been particularly sporty.  I was always the one at school who would spend more energy avoiding sport than if I had actually taken part.   Last year I started tennis for fear of becoming a tennis widow.  I would not have seen my husband or my son if I hadn't joined in.

It came as a great surprise to actually enjoy it, helped of course by the athletic young tennis coaches at the local academy.  Unfortunately YapYapOK has taken so much of my time during the past 12 months that I had stopped playing.  It has become easier to work than make time for tennis.  Consequently several tennis sessions this week has left me barely able to move and shattered.

I have surprised myself by containing the skills  I had picked up during Henrys coaching.  Henry is an excellent player.  He has great coordination, listens and implemeents his skills and is fast and strong on the court.  He won his first ever tournament never losing more than 3 sets in a game of 9.

This time the age limit is different.  He is only 9 and will be playing against 12 year olds.  All of them are professionally coached every week and Henry only attends once a month.  ±He is not expected to win but is expected to learn.  As a mother I am concerned that he will become demoralised.  This happened in his first golf tournament, he fully expected to take a trophy against older more experienced players.  He had only been in an academy for a few weeks, with no prior experience.  We saw it as an opportunity to play a course.

This put him off golf as he could not see himself winning.  He has only played one tournament since and failed to place in that one too.  He continues to play at the academy and has now moved up to the advanced group, often driving a ball 200 yards  with reasonable accuracy.

Today I am sitting catching up with my blog whilst they are at the academy.  We had many free adverts placed on YapYapOK during yesterday and last nignt. YapYapOK rankings are now at 844,994.  I had hoped that they would be below 800,000 before tomorrow but this is unlikely as we have only jumped 150,00 in 6 days.  Last weeks jump was an excess of 300,000 points so we have jumped less than half of that.

The further up you climb the harder it becomes, we are really relying on some great traffic now.  So if you have anything to sell, register.  It takes seconds.  Activate your email by clicking on the link.  If your email is not in your inbox, check your spam or junk file.  Thats it, your ready to post!

If you’re too open-minded, your brains will fall out.

Easter Sunday

Last night was very late as we watched all the Easter celebrations in the village.  They don't start until 12.00 and they last for about an hour after the bonfire and the fireworks.

Its really better to stay awake and watch them, than sleep through them.  Its always very magical with the church service, the candlelit procession, oh and the firecracker fights which can be quite extreme.

Since its Easter I thought I would share something with you.  The other night whilst I was tossing and turning a very odd thing happened to me, it was very (too) fast and unnerving but I was looking at myself and my husband from above.

Now I am not sure where my beliefs lie with this.  Astral projection seems too far fetched, particularly having researched the subject since.  Another explanation given to me was that I was looking to myself for answers and it is the mind that plays tricks on you when you are in deep thought.  This seems much more logical and perhaps one I choose to go with.  I'm very open minded in what may exist beyond what we can see.  However, personally, this was way out of my comfort zone.

YapYapOK has not moved in rankings since yesterday.  We have had some more great adverts placed including this one for line dancing qualifying event featuring world famous dancers. Also another for swingers, sorry jive and swing social evenings.   So the site is continuing to draw more traffic and more importantly more ads, day and night.

I am off to pack a picnic as we are going off for another marathon walk,  Actually its only about 5 miles but it is very difficult terrain climbing mountains and fording rivers.

Happy egg hunting!

You gotta be in it to win it!

Easter Monday 2010!

Fortunately I dont have a very sweet tooth, in fact I'd rather have a sandwich, unfortunately I quite like chips in that sandwich but hey.  Not to say I don't love chocolate.  I like to keep a bar of Green and Blacks or Lindt dark mint or ginger or bitter orange in the fridge.  Maybe once or twice a week I indulge in just one square.  Problem is I rarely get my one square when it gets spotted by my son.  My husband also eats it when he sleep walks and I find the empty wrapper in the fridge normally when I am most looking forward to it.

Henry really wanted some new trainers as an Easter present.  He is only 9 years old but since he is a size 4 we had to buy adults size.  The price was quite literally double.  Unfortunately he asked for these a couple of days before Easter so my chance of buying online were shafted.  Having had a shop I understand that it is difficult to make ends meet, particularly during economically challenging times.  This is precisely the reason we set up a free website.  Internet shopping will never replace high street stores.  Consumer confidence is lower on the net when you are unsure of after service.  If the prices are competitive then it may become a calculated risk for buyers.  The more success we have on internet sales, the more we "risk" on future purchases.

It makes sense to have an online shop and an internet presence.  Having traveled this path, i know how expensive and time consuming this can be.  YapYapOK provides  an opportunity to enable retailers to create their own online shop completely free of charge.   Owners of online websites know only too well, that you can have the best all singing all dancing site at the most competitive prices, but if your rankings are low, or your budgets are limited then you will not get any "footfall".  The nuts and bolts of operating an e-commerce site don't vary much from the high street.  The more money you have in securing your position or marketing yourself to the masses, the better your chances of getting traffic.  Remember your footfall is potentially massive, but so is your competition.  You are no longer competing with one or two other book shops in the town, there will be millions of them.  All selling the same books at vastly discounted prices.  Some will have been established for years.

This is the benefit of selling on popular listing sites such as Amazon and Ebay.  They do all that marketing for you, thus increasing customers to your store.   This is an expensive way to sell and if your prepared to lower your marjins to attract more customers then it will probably work well.  The down side of this of course is that you will need to work harder or to bring in the same amount of money.

YapYapOK is the gap in the internet market.  Our rankings are growing every day and we work 7 days a week marketing our site on your behalf.  Ours is a use it without learning it, site.  There are full picture galleries and embed video options.  Individual products have  a dedicated page, check out this ad for The Identity Project, the more products you have the more exposure you get, simple!

YapYapOK offers free shop hosting which we hope will enable competitive pricing, but thats your choice.  With no internet costs, marjins can be realistically lower and still allow you the business owner to make a good profit.  After all you are doing all the work, why shouldn't you?

YapYapOK update

Alexa global ranking is 800,158  UK ranking is 140,000.  We are 750,000 from our goal.   YapYapOK now has 3800 Twitter followers.  I could get more but fear that I will suffer permanent suspension if I do.  Since all ads go tp Tweet and often end up in relevant  feeds on relevant websites that would be a real blow.

The YapYapOK riddles forum is proving to be very popular and we are getting some great hits on that now.  We put a lot out to Twitter and the click through rate is gratifying.  Granted its a bit of a cheat to get the hit rate up but we did not want to suffer on hits over the bank holiday when fewer people would be uploading products.

Currently we are cheating our way up through the rankings.  Our hit rate is helped along very nicely through Twitter but we do not have enough traffic to warrant such a great jump.  There are variuos other tricks I am using which also seem to be working, I have yet to reveal these as they are a little out of my control and I am a little low on participation particularly since I cant very well reveal it on Facebook.

The advantage to having a good ranking is that our site now comes up organically through the search engines.  Usually when someone enters a search term for one of our ads.  Clearly the more ads we get - the more search terms and the more traffic.

I am off for a YapYapOK meeting to discuss further improvements to the site.  I played a little tennis yesterday so meetings is probably all I am good for.

I am a big believer of karma.

My husband thinks I am a martyr, but I have always beleived that  most people are basically good.  That changed today when a friend sent me some news reports with some pictures of some of the barbaric crimes occurring all the time in South Africa.   I am not talking about murder, it is far worse than that.  I am unsure if the situation can be resolved when there is so much venom.

The problem with hate is that it never brings resolution.  It takes strength and courage to say sorry and it takes intelligence to see rational and perspective.  Having said that I don"t believe that i would be capable of these attributes faced with similar circumstances.

The problem with being human is that we are so flawed.  Expectations of each other can sometimes exceed either capability or circumstance.  Judgements are made too readily without fully understanding any situation.

I don't pretend to have a full handle on what is occurring in SA.  I  do however see depravity in the extreme when these animals are capable of inflicting so much pain upon others.  I have no comprehension of how one human being can inflict such gross and inhumane treatment to another.   I have never seen myself capable of hatred but it would not take this much suffering to change this.

Having said that I am so over protective of my son.  I would willingly fight all his battles if I thought that would help him.  Obviously I know that by involving myself unnecessarily in his battles I am not equipping him with some of the tools he will need to get on as an adult.  Clearly as a parent it is my job to protect him from unnecessary and dangerous persuits.  Thats is why I made him promise a very solemn promise, (when he was 7) that he will never do skydiving, bungie, rock climbing, smoke, ride a motorbike or any other activity which I deem detrimental to his wellbeing.

I remind him of this promise often enough for him to know I did not make it up when he was too young to remember.

Anyway, soooo off topic, the Alexa trick is working.  YapYapOK is currently ranked at 766,389 with a UK rank of 102,504.  That is a tremendous jump of practically 34k over night.  My target for this week is to be under 700,000 by Sunday.  If we can jump 100,000 each week then we should be under 100,000 within 7 weeks.  That is a tall order since it gets harder and harder to climb the further up you go.

High rankings brings increased visits.  This is perpetual motion as increased visits bring higher rankings.  Clearly this will have an effect on YapYapOK site earnings.  Our ethos at YapYapOK is to support and help others, fortunately as a private entity we do not have a duty to shareholders.  We hope to inextricably link the brand YapYapOK to compassionate causes.  Our long term plans may seem a little far fetched to publish at this stage of the business.  However we do hope to implement regular giftings as part of the company policy.

Now what did I say about karma??!!!

YapYapOK Alexa 755,640, slowly slowly, but still in the right direction.

YapYapOK had a huge jump yesterday of nearly 40k places.  It means that we may be under 700k on sunday.  Clearly this is still a tall order but I reckon the odds are better than Labour staying  in power after may.

This in no way is indicative of my political preference.  i would rather abstain from revealing that.  It has changed from time to time and was at its strongest when William Hague was party leader for the conservatives.  I doubt that there was ever a more genuine or charismatic representative for any party in British politics.  I think  that he gave himself up for public service with the sole intent of putting the British people first.

The current issues surrounding the spending of public money with outlandish expenses, particularly with second homes, stinks of fraud.  What other career can you relocate and keep properties without paying for them.  Clearly expenses have been going on pre Labour and has been taken advantage of by nearly all politicians irrelevant of party politics.  It does however hit home more powerfully when this abuse stands in economically challenging times.  The benifits of the citizens of the UK are the politicians and those on benefits.

I strongly agree with a social system. Helping the socially disadvantaged is what makes us unique.  However when the balance is shifted so that it becomes a life choice to have the state provide then that must be indicative of poor distribution of funds.

The problem with a poorly balanced mismanaged social system is that rarely those who are in need get the help they require.  Those who know how to strip the system fleece it.  Taxes need to be raised to pay for this.  Penalised tax payers often leave to pay there taxes in to country where they can enjoy fewer taxes.  Companies forced to pay minimum wages can no longer compete in the UK and before you know it the UK has no economy left.

Couple this with unions commanding higher pay and the destruction continues.  Companies are being held to ransom by unions which will no doubt see them sold off to foreign entities or worse folded.  If I owned Easy Jet, would I hire an ex British Airways employee.  Maybe I need some time to think about that.  How dare anyone have that power over any business, worse, how dare they use that power when they are fortunate to even hold a job in the current climate.  So more unemployment, more taxes to facilitate a higher social system and the self destruction continues, except of course for the politicains who continue to "rob" the little money left in the coffers.

Hmmm maybe I didn't hide my political leaning as much as I'd have liked.

So I have simplified my understanding of the system.  I know it to be far more complex.  Even so, the simple law of maths and balancing equations stands.  Less tax payers in supporting more in the social system equals debt.  By all means take some help when you needed, but work for it.  I bet less peolple would claim state benefit if they had menial work to do.  Have as many children as you want, but please, don't expect me to continue paying for it!!

YapYapOK is a free advertising website with no political preference.  It exists to provide a free resource to help you sell your stuff.  Since we do have a payment gateway we are not under any obligation to provide Alistair with details of any transactions, after all we dont know what your selling.  Businesses are obligated to declare tax to the Inland revenue as governed by UK tax law.

Heavy, well some of my posts have been bland and lacking personality lately.  So I have stepped off  the fence and await the backlash.  Please be gentle with me.

Welcome to the Church of the Holy Cabbage.  Lettuce pray

YapYapOK Alexa 733,584.

Desperate to get below 500,000 now.  I am allowing a little over 2 weeks for that.

My blog has been put off whilst I was having a disaster in the kitchen.  A good friend is coming over for dinner this evening so I am preparing a mousaka, roast tomato salad and bread.  It started off OK.  My aubergines were grilled in olive oil, untill I started eating them and had to prepare some more.  I removed the lamb from the fridge to find that I only had 500g, my recipe calls for 750g (see mousaka on the YapYapOK recipe forum), I wanted 1 kilo, (he's a big eater) and I was hoping to have some left over for tomorrow as we are off on another mammoth walk.

My frustration commanded that I immediately call my husband to ask "HOW MUCH LAMB DID I ASK YOU TO GET" ?
"1/2 kilo"
"NO, I ASKED FOR A KILO"
"NO, I checked at the butcher I called and you said 1/2 a kilo"
Cross, I put the phone down.  You know that moment when realisation dawns and you know he's right.  I meekly called back with an apology and my excuse.  Thats what happens when they change from one bloody measuring system to another.  My brain is too full to think this out properly.

The next disaster was when I finely chopped the celery.  Something soft and squishy and only some of it identifiable.  Since I had clearly finely minced whatever maggotty thing it was I had to start again.  I then forgot to add the peppers ( I never forget ingredients), so I have resorted to finely slicing them coating them in seasoning and olive oil and laying on top of the mince mixture to bake before I stir them in.  The mix is a mix as I resorted to 250g of minced pork to bulk it out.  It will be fine.

I have always added grated carrot and celery to mince mixtures, its great to create a stock within the dinner but also to feed vegetable adverse toddlers.  They develope a palate for vegatables without really knowing it.  Having said that we never have bland boiled veg so I hope that Henry would have developed a taste for them anyway.  I am evangelical about nutrition, in so much that we always have balanced food.  That way we can have treats without feeling guilty.  I also think that natural produce is better than the alternatives.  I wouldn't even bake a cake with margerine.  We adore all dairy to the fullest, our butter bill is higher than any smokers cigerette spend.

My family have a history of serious heart disease, so you may consider this irresponsible, but I have had all the blood tests and my good and bad cholesterol are only outstanding in how good they are.  I am convinced that this is because of balance.  We eat full fat products with plenty of veg, olive oil and alcohol.  No preservatives, or as few as possible.  I never buy jars of anything.  Tinned pulses and tomatoes are all fine.  If my son has a coke which he is allowed twice a week, it cannot be diet with poisonous aspartame.  My god I sound like a Sargent major.

I am a control freak.  I hate Henry eating at other peoples houses too often if they eat junk.  I hope he meets and marries an excellent cook who has the same values regarding feeding her family, yes of course he will cook too.  Nutrition is the most fundamental and important thing a parent provides.  I would consider myself a failure as a mother if I did not provide or ensure this was provided for my son.

Its also incredibly selfish not to enhance your childs palate.  I cannot tell you how many times I have other peoples kids over for tea and we have to re evaluate and compromise our evening meal.

Wow this maybe a little provocative.  if you don't agree, please dont comment.  I will take it personally.  Just the other day I received an email from Stumble Upon to say I have spammed them.  It upset me all evening.

Food is an important part of a balanced diet

YapYapOK Alexa 727,935.  Growth very small but growth nontheless!

Last night I watched an interview of Jamie Oliver on the Oprah show.

Jamie Oliver deserves his success more than anyone else on tv.  Why? Because he keeps giving back, even in the face of adversity.  He started with Fifteen, then he went on to school dinners.  What was most surprising was the resilience that Jamie had from the parents of these school children.  Clearly they were too lazy to educate their childrens palate.  If that was me I would welcome someone elses efforts.

He shines not just in his actions but in his non judgement.  He never criticises, on the contrary he excuses them and pushes them onwards with  kindness.  I don't have his qualities.

I remember a conversation I had with my sons health visitor when my son was little.  She was leaving the profession and I had lent on her a couple of times and found her very supportive.  I expressed sadness at her departure.
"The problem is Tammy, you don't see my job from the other side.  The strain is enormous and their are too many parents that don't care.  On top of that I am now expected to stand outside supermarkets preaching the virtues of fruit and veg.  I mean there is not a person alive that doesn't already know what they should be eating and what they should be feeding their children. I didnot study so hard to end up handing out leaflets to the ignorant"

I agree with this, hence my lack of empathy.  The only real argument I could see for feeding children rubbish was when the parents on the poverty line were able to buy pizza at 50 cents each.   However it all comes down to priorities.  Its fine to compromise diet occassionally, so long as it does not become the norm.

I wish that their were more Jamie Oliver's in the world.  I wish I could be more like him.  One of the things he mentioned was that there had been several generations of parents who had done food badly.  He was lucky to have come from a family of foodies.  I suppose that I too was lucky as my mother is an excellent, (qualified) chef.  Perhaps without this direction I may have ended up more like the subjects of his shows.

Hmm a little empathy perhaps.

YapYapOK recipe forum will now be a priority for me. I will start pricing up some of them too.  Please feel free to publish any recipes that you have.  You will notice that my recipes are not diet food.  They are however balanced and made with fresh produce.

Dogs have owners, cats have staff

YapYapOK  Alexa ranking 727,955

I am a big animal lover.  Adverts for pets do get more exposure than others and as I have identified this, I suppose I will need to do something about it.  However when you get adverts like this for Yorkshire Terrier Puppies its hard not to give it more web space.  I was wondering why so many of the puppies on the site are dressed up.  I came to the conclusion that its because puppies are now seen as fashion accessories. Ever since it girls like Paris Hilton began being photographed with chihuahas they are being sought the world over.  How else can you explain the extreme prices that they now command, give me a labrador any day.

I am not a huge fan of terriers, I am pretty anti Jack Russells having had the misfortune of living next door to them twice.  But Yorkshire Terriers are different.  I am unable to articulate their appeal but I love them.

For the first time in my life I don't have any pets, except for tortoises but its hardly the same.  I lost my cat who I had  for 19 years, he was a real joy.  He was my first cat.  I had, as a child grown up with dogs but never had one of my own as I have always worked.  Cats have the same loyalty as dogs but without the responsibility.

My cat was not a hunter so I was not given to grisly presents when I returned from work.  Instead he used to raid neighbors washing lines and I would have to  redistribute the laundry on a very regular basis.  He could manage large items and then run and jump into the top window dragging the clothes with him.  I miss him and I miss not having an pet.

I want desperately to have another animal but since we are moving in the hopefully not too distant future it makes sense to wait.

I am currently trying a number of advertising avenues to promote the YapYapOK brand further.  We will start some aggressive campaigns when the Alexa gets below 400,000 and we have more site population.   It makes sense to have all the categories at least populated to some extent and we have a real requirement for car adverts and job vacancies.  The pets and animal category is probably our most successful.

YapYapOK is crawling veeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyy slowly now in the hundreds,  726,765 in Alexa!

I am now firmly behind the development process with YapYapOK.  Since we have a multi national audience it made sense to be able to opt for multi currency options.  It must be frustrating for all our US advertisers to either make do with a pound sign or use a currency exchange, we have had a currency converter on the home page but never the less I am certain that this will be met with at least some enthusiasm.

I am currently involved in determining some keywords for an ad campaign.  Unlike google ads, the search term benefits from being a common search term.  This is because the prices are set.  Google adwords cost more for the most popular search terms and puts Google adwords either out of reach or requiring a disproportionate time spent on ascertaining good relevant search terms with low competition.

The campaign I am utilising sets down the prices per keyword with discounts given when you buy more.  It does this by selling only a predetermined number of the same search term.  Common sense prevailed and I used the Google ads search terms to discover keysearch terms and bought these via my alternative search engine.  Clearly it makes sense to buy all the terms you require to reserve them for your campaign, particularly as the numbers available are very low.  The search engine is called ExactSeek.com.

The purpose of ExactSeek is that for internet browsers it gives more relevent results.  I am not sure how successful it is but having looked at its Alexa rankings its clearly getting alot of traffic.  If the algorithm is delivering the browser to concise sites, I for one would prefer to utilise this search engine than scrolling through pages of irrelevant results.

YapYapOK is provided with analytics which clearly illustrates the success of the individual term.  For each term you can provide a different description and a different URL.  This is great for a site like YapYapOK which has very different topic areas.  It means that instead of having a one description fits all, I can determine relevent description for that key term and direct them to the correct page of the site, ie searches for cars now go direct to the motoring section.

Its so easy to use that I can see which terms are bringing instant results and which ones are not working.  It is a doddle to edit and within seconds of having a low click through rate I can change it to optimise my hit rate.  My aim is to get all my search terms delivering at least 20 clicks per term each.  This will really push me up the ranks.  Currently one of my search terms is on overdrive and has delivered far in excess of this in under the 24 hours.  I can also see my under acheivers which I will be changing as soon as I have finished this.  I anticipate that within 2 weeks will see these optimised properly.

Each keyword costs $4 per month (discounted for more terms or commitment), that's less than 13 cents a day of relevant traffic.   Since there is no pay per click, you will not suffer fraudulant clicks or budgets getting out of control.
The only fault I have of the system currently is that your URL is hidden.  If you want to have your title in the description then you better hope that your name is short as you are compromising your description due to limited characters.

So whilst I am hailing the virtues of a great new cost effective and affordable system, I better get my ass in gear and optimise my key words  before everyone else does.

The mint makes it first, it is up to you to make it last!

YapYapOK Alexa - unchanged.  I have been clicking furiously on it for the last 3 days waiting for some more positive movement.

It does not make any sense as we have had loads more joining YapYapOK.  On top of that our hit rate is going up....significantly.

I am proud to report that my new ad space on exact search really works.  My first set of keywords were under performing despite having researched them thoroughly.  I only have 5 at the moment but plan to extend them.  Only one of my keywords over performed.  So I changed the other four.  I now have 3 keywords over performing and 2 not doing so well.  I have changed theses and will re assess later.

I am eternally grateful that I did not buy all my keywords at the start.  Now I know what to expect and I have several alternatives up my sleeve so I can approach it logically.  Apart from the stats provided by the search engine.  I can clearly see all paths on my Statcounter.  So it works, I recommend it and my hit rate has increased.... by loads!

So today is a relatively short post.  I am off to create a keyword bank for YapYapOK.  I have a very large to do list so I cannot see it being implemeted until next week.  After all I don't want to purchase them and then not have time to change them.  After all at 13 cents a day, I need them to work!

YapYapOK Alexa 708,852 - pulling teeth!

Actually its not so bad, it appears that Alexa have changed their algorithm so there is often a big change in rank.  Clearly that is good when it works in your favour.  To stay still however suggests that we are covering all bases.  We are targeting traffic through advertising, creating inward links, updating content regularly and working the social media.  Should they revert to the old algorithim then we will be at an advantage.

I have seen this happen several times even during my short seo experience.  Webmasters complain that despite attracting more traffic then other sites their rankings have reversed whilst the lesser visited sites climb.

My theory is that this enables newer sites with few visitors and lower budgets to get noticed and thereby create an opportunity to get noticed.  The system must favour commercial enterprise since without it they would be running charities.   For example, take Twitter.  I have been wondering how they work and where they make their money.  I have theorised for a long time that they must be looking long term when they have reachedthe masses before they capitalise.  True enough, they have now announced that they are rolling out sponsored Tweets for businesses.  I have not looked at these fully yet but they appear to stand for everything that Twitter currently opposses.  These sponsered Tweets will be labelled so that all Twitterers can see that they are promotional.  If they are not interesting enough then Twitter will remove them, they can measure this in several ways, one being retweets.   That suggests that most of our Tweets are uninteresting since very few are actually retweeted.  All this will do is create a work force or third party agents who you can sign up to retweet promo tweets on auto to an audience who has no interest in them.  I know that this is not their only measure of successful Tweets but  all measures can be frigged.

YapYapOK favour getting the Twitter following up.  Whilst this traffic is hit and miss it is a numbers game.  The more footfall I get from Tweeting, the more traffic I get.  Since YapYapOK is a sales site, potentially everyone with a computer is a customer.  In the case of YapYapOK it is such a wide audience that it all counts.  I think that if Twitter sold followers, with several attached packages such as locality, subject, numbers and untargeted then that would be a far better way of enabling business to market their product or service.

It would then be up to the individual to opt out of these lists.  Perhaps I am wrong, I wonder if they asked their audience first.  My guess is no.  Twitter marketeers know that to get a decent following usually results in a higher click through.  Consequently we are all searching Google for ways to improve our following.  The results are endless, there are a huge number of Twitter exchanges and Twitter adders, of which I am a fan, that claim to increase your following on auto pilot.  They exist only to appease demand.

I doubt that I will pay to use Twitter.  I think that playing the numbers game will yield better results.  Lets see!

YapYapOK Alexa ranking 708,852.  I am still waiting for todays movement.

I received an email from a company suggesting I take them up on an offer to submit YapYapOK to 450,000 search engines.  Clearly there was a cost and with it a testimonial from a client who attributed his rank success to this company using this process.

I  receive  hundreds of emails like this all the time.   I am always open to ideas on web promotion, having said that most of them get deleted due to the nature of the language.  I may be naive but I am no sucker.  This one caught my eye.  I instantly took the URL from the testimonial and did a quick search on Alexa.  The company ranked over 7 million,  hmmm.

It shouts of poor planning when the costs of email marketing are thwarted by zero back up.  I did not bother to check their own ranking which would have been my next job had the testimonial site ranked well.  Had the first site ranked within the first 100,000 Alexa, I would have liked to see this one at under 50,000.  To consider them further I would  have looked for praise on the public discussions boards.

Today I wanted to give a brief summary of the web tools that YapYapOK has utilised so far.

Free:-

   1. Facebook
   2. Twitter
   3. Ning
   4. Posturous
   5. Linkedin
   6. Blogger
   7. My Space
   8. Bit.ly
   9. Alexa
  10. Google adword tool
  11. Stumbleupon (SU)
  12. Digg
  13. Bleet box (BB)
  14. Tweet Adder ( free version)
  15. Google Buzz
  16. Lunch

The first 9 of these I use everyday, I love them.  I use Google adword to help me with one of my paying sites listed below.  SU is great but I have been told off for consistently submitting my own site so will do that through Digg in future.  Digg - great for bypassing direct submissions to SU also submit to Digg, have not been told off...yet.  In that event will use Bleetbox to submit to both SU & Digg.  Preemption of violation means that I have preprepared &, da da da, have a plan..  BB submits to Digg, Digg submits to SU, cant submit to BB as its direct only, I think.  But hey 2 out of 3 ain"t bad.

Tweet Adder free version is wonderful and only surpassed by paying version. Google Buzz & Lunch- I really have given up on these.  There are many more that I have given up on, but my memory does not serve me.

Paid Tools:-

   1. Tweet Adder
   2. ExactSearch.com
   3. Exoclick

Have not thoroughly committed to Exoclick yet.  There is money in the account but if I want to edit some of my ad, eg I wish to change the cost of the click thru I will pay for, it does not hold on to the advert I have carefully placed and I will have to resubmit.  Having said that.  I have researched this company and only seen excellent reports.  Tweet Adder I love and ExactSearch.com is proving hard to get my Keywords right.  They provide a keyword tool but it is not as deep as google adwords.  I also use the URL off  well ranked sites to see the breakdown of the search terms in Alexa.

Some Keywords  are out performing all expectations which only highlights how poorly some of my others are doing.  That however is down to me to get right.  Apart from that I love it.  It works, its great value and the results are instantly gratifying.  We have resulting ads and huge increase on hits using this alone.  I am anticipating good things with Alexa so thank you ExactSeek, any chance of becoming an affiliate???!!!

Wow a very serious yet appropriate blog in that it reports on where we are using web tools, inappropriate in that I have failed to get in some inbound links.  So please excuse the following, I'm sure you will agree that it is necessary for my SEO.

YapYapOK UK Free Classified Alexa Ranking 681,821.  On the 19th March we ranked 1.36 million so we have jumped an access of 671,000 in less than a calender month.

Yesterday I was re reading some SEO literature.  It reminded me of one of the things that had somehow bypassed me when I read it first time.  It related to anchor text relevance with text linking.  I create around about 30 inward links everyday from highly ranked sites such as Blogger, Posturous, Linkedin etc.  Having an in bound link is like getting a vote from another website.  If that site happens to be well ranked then its vote is more important to Google.

I had remembered to never use arbitrary text such as click here, I knew that it had to be related but clearly Google cannot make a relationship between YapYapOK and UK Free Classifieds.  So it is up to me to create that relationship.  At least until the name YapYapOK becomes synonymous with Free Classifieds.  Alas being humble was never my strong point, I had clearly forgotten we weren't there yet!

This week I shall be concentrating on article submission and submitting these to the various sites.  2 in particular that rank well are ezinearticles and articlesbase.  I trust that there is an opportunity for in links to the Best UK Free Classified Ads site, (I remembered)  but if not at least we have some free PR.  In case your wondering keywords such as the anchor text I have used is recognized better  with a capital letter at the front.

Such huge increases in Alexa during the past few weeks brings high expectations of the next few weeks. At this point complacency will not be acceptable.  It is important that I crank up a gear and continue to expand what I am doing and to research further tools that will enhance rank.

I am off to write my first article for the Worlds Best Classified.  It will include information about our Free Shop Hosting system.  Hopefully it will be more interesting than this blog, but this is really for anyone who is interested in tuning up their SEO.

On my to do list this week is article submission, I was well aware that this was another key tool in free web marketing but have so far been either too busy and other times too complacent to get on with it.  This is a great way to get digital PR to your site.  The content should be well written and not duplicated.  To maximise my article exposure it is necessary that I submit different ones to different sites.

UK Free Classifieds will be my anchor text as will Free Shop Hosting.  Apparently its important not to spam, I am not sure if that's a Google thing or if its the article sites thing.  If its Google then ooops!

Since I spam in links on every blog and multi post them and my rankings increase pretty much daily then I am guessing its down to the web sites themselves.

This week has seen a succession of on topic serious blogs re SEO.  I will try to lighten the mood this week with a little wit and spontaneity.

Until then, pip!

Page One Of Google!

YapYapOK - free ads Alexa ranking 645,319 UK rank 62,609!

I read an article on getting to page one of google.  This is so much to do with meta data then it does with ranking or links.  For example, when you when you type in free classified and shop hosting, YapYapOK  comes up on the front page at the top of that page.  The problem is that no one actually searches for this.  You need unique key terms, but they must have an audience.

What I would really like is to come up as a result of UK Free Ads, or UK Free Classifieds, or Free Shop Hosting.  Classified and classifieds would be nice but the competition gets very stiff here.

The article suggests that you come up with 10 keywords which are not too common and literally use each term  anchoring them with in links to your website.  It suggests using Scribd.com to submit to.  Your article is not approved and literally goes live instantly.  Couple this with the fact that Scribd has an Alexa Rank of 238 and you can see that you are getting "votes" from a very important site.

The article was written by TheAntiHype and I am very grateful for it.  He has written many interesting articles on SEO and I look forward to going through them.

I have some errands to do  today so it is unlikely that i will expand my Exactsearch terms.  However it is on this weeks agenda and I will report back to let you know how it increases my traffic.

YapYapOK - Free Classifieds Alexa 629,470  UK 55k

Today I have woken up with the headaches of headaches, despite this I still managed to perform the Alexa dance for my family as the best UK free classifieds jumped another 26,000 places overnight.

Our hit rate is doing pretty well now as a direct result of advertising on ExactSearch.com.  The only aspect we need to improve is on population.  This may happen organically or it may require some media marketing.  The problem with low population is that sellers think that consumers wont search for their product on a low populated site.  Since we do not rely on just site visits to market individual ads then this is an oversight of the seller.

We now have lots of feedback of sellers saying that they are getting increased referred traffic from their free business advertising.

Today I am concentrating my efforts on some keyword analysis to further enhance my advertising with ExactSearch.com. We are buying in bulk for a year as the discounts are enticing.  Having tried the system I have to say that I have found it to be cheaper and more successful than Googles adwords.  Whilst ExactSearch.com does not get the same traffic, it also does not have the same competition.  Since they do not oversell their keywords, your ad appears constant.  They do not promise this and as the keywords gradually sell then they will be in rotation.  That is a good thing since it means that they are attracting even more traffic.

ExactSearch.com has climbed 2000 places since I researched them a week or so ago.  This means that they are gaining in popularity.  I only need to look at our site stats to see where my traffic is being referred from.  They are now ranked at 5000.

So I must hurry to secure my keywords before the rest of the digital world catches on.

Free PR

YapYapOK Free Classified Ads Alexa ranking 629,470, unchanged since yesterday.

I am however expecting great things.  I have had my article published by Article Base.  Whilst this is no big thing in web marketing.  It is something I have put off as I did not feel confident of my writing skills.  There are strict guidelines which require adherence if you want your article submitted.  I had previously registered on articlezine but there was no way I was going to be able to comply with theirs.

Articlezine will not allow blatant marketing and they only allow 2 in bound links.  Whilst they rank very slightly higher in Alexa than Article Base, the fact that I am allowed 3 in bound links in both the summary and the body must surely more than make up for rank in my SEO.

Additionally Article Base submission went through the next morning.  For the benefit of anyone interested here it is. "Selling Online Just Got Easier".

You are not paid for articles, they are free for anyone to use as they wish and you effectively negate any ownership.  So clearly unless you want some free PR  then your unlikely to do it.  I plan on submitting one article a week to various sites.  Its important not to duplicate so I need to dedicate some time to it.

Yesterday I researched Trellian as a free trial for keyword analysis of advertising.  Its far superior to Google in that it gives you so much more analysis and variations of the words./  I had previously tried to register for free trial of another site, but could not progress without entering in my credit card details.  Any freebie that requires me to cancel my payments or membership after the free trial is over I am very wary of, mostly because my mind leaks like a sieve and I would be permanently broke.

I now have a whole dictionary of keyword/terms on every variation of classifieds that you can think of.  Today my extended marketing campaign with ExactSearch.com begins in earnest.  I am dedicating the next few hours to getting every term, description and linked URL as close as I can.  Wish me luck!

What has changed however is the hit rate, it trebled with my first lot of keywords and has trebled again.  I know I must seem like an affiliate, but I'm not.  I am just genuinely delighted with ExactSearch.  Apart from having an affordable ad system that actually works, they are efficient responsive and clearly value their customers.  Even though we are on different continents, any emails are still answered the same day.

So now I have a fairly large list of keywords and despite researching them fairly thoroughly on Trellian, the numbers do not translate from Google to these other search engines.  Some inevitably do and out perform others 10 times.  The beauty of ExactSeek is that it is so easy to change.  Of course its important to remember that there is a time delay so when you view that the change has taken place, ie by putting your keyterm in the ExactSearch.com search engine and seeing if your site comes up, or leave it for 4 hours and work from then.

I have today done a quick excel sheet with all my keywords.  I have programmed it to give me the clicks per hour on every term.  All I do is input the data.  Clearly if you only have a handful of keywords then this will be unnecessary, although its surprising which ones you forget you've changed and when, by not keeping record.  This system will facilitate keyword evaluation so I can optimise them properly. Its not without foundation to think that a well optimised system will double the hit rate or more, from where we are now.

I have also started an ad campaign with Yahoo & Exoclick.  They are fairly low on budget and restricted to the UK.  I wasn't too clever with some of my words, probably using Free Ads is going to dry out the account in no time. I need to change them so that I am not paying a premium.  I will get round to this at some point this week.

YapYapOK the best Free UK Classifieds - Alexa 591,168

Yesterday we ranked at 619,118 so thats a massive 27,950 jump over night.  Clearly we are delighted as this suggest that in all likely hood we will acheive an Alexa rank of under 100,000 very quickly.  My plan was to get under 500k by next sunday (2nd May 2010)  But I have reset the goal to 450K.

My ad campaign is achieving far more traffic than I imagined.  This is because of some of my key terms working exceptionally well for me.  Others such as Classifieds & Dogs are doing very badly despite having massive traffic in Google.  I think I have discovered the reason why.

Europe seems quite keen on these smaller search engines where the ads are being shown.  America is not so keen.  I can see that easily from my stats that most of my traffic is coming in from my ads on these engines, few from the US and massive from all over Europe.  So, clearly I have lost a major contributor to the English presentation of keywords.  Whilst the words translate, it is often not literal enough for an exact search.  There may not be such a term for classifieds in other European Language, it may simply be Free ads, Free ad or Free advertising.

This is even clearer when you see that Shoes is an amazing keyterm giving me an incredible amount of traffic, seriously if you have a shoe shop, you want to be advertising on this Free Ad site.  The same goes for Used Cars.

So I have already tweaked my ads on ExactSearch.  They are clearly picking up in popularity as I have easily been able to buy every one I wanted.  Today I entered a word in for availability and there was only one left.  So I quickly added it.  Another  had run very low.  I need to be disciplined and try to get my ad words right within the next 2 weeks.  Since each one takes up to 4 hrs to change and then reqs at least 24 hours to monitor this is a tall order.  If they don't perform then I have lost over a day on each one.

Luckily I come fore armed with a long list of potential successors all with search engine data to back them up.

Wish me luck!

YapYapOK Free UK Classifieds Alexa 591,169

Clearly all my efforts on marketing the YapYapOK classifieds are working.  I have so many things to do but not the time.  Last week I promised an update on the recipe forum, but article writing superseded it in importance.

I am still in the midst of analysing data for my Keywords.  I am grateful that I set the time aside preparing an Excel spreadsheet.  There is no way that I could have fully understood the hits/hr for each keyword and then continue to know it once that word had changed.

Yesterdays hits were slightly disappointing ie: they dropped from the day before, however they still substantially exceeded any we had received prior .  The majority of these hits is still due to these small search engines so I am unsure why we took a hit.  It would be good to know what is a reasonable variable for website traffic.

We have also been rewarded By Alexa and can now see our 100k goal in sight.

A quick update on my Yahoo paid ads.  I have now started to see that we are getting traffic from Bing with these keywords.  I reset the account so that the credit is distributed through the month.  For that reason I am pleasantly surprised how much traffic I received, particularly considering the keywords I have chosen as well as the frequency in which they yielded a result.

My keywords included names of the best ranked classifieds sites in the UK.  Unlike ExactSearch.com, I also received clicks for misspells which I was a pleasant surprise.

I would love to know the average traffic for various rankings within Alexa.  Since Alexa only provides data for sites within a 100k then it is difficult to know measure where we can expect to be.

There is a site which gives approximate data on entering the URL but this is inaccurate.  It estimated ours at far exceeding what we were getting a few weeks ago, since our increase in traffic it is now under estimating it.  Whilst I am on the subject of estimations there are various sites which value your website when you enter the URL.  One estimates our Free Ads to be worth  $2000 and another one $2.79 million.  Do we take an average?

So if anyone anywhere has the answer to either web valuation or Alexa traffic, I would love to know.

It's Saturday and therefore mufti, have a great weekend!

I have been reading a forum on how to get Alexa to under 100k.  Some claim this to be easy and others that there is a large requirement to attract visitors.  My understanding is that it is a combination of visitors, site glue ( how long a visitor stays), page views and in links.  Since there seems to be a fluctuation of numbers to sites within similar rankings then there is clearly more than one criteria.

Since today is Sunday and I am blogging for links then I will keep this short.  We have had many new classified posts over night.  This decorative beaded hairband is one, here is one for sharepoint online training.

I am off to start cooking.  Until tomorrow, where I hope to have some wit & at the very least something to say.

Spam or Promotion?
YapYapOK UK Free Classifieds Alexa Rank 543,776  Global, 43k UK.

I was having a quick look on my stats yesterday.  Amongst my referels was one from Twitter coming from Vampire something or other.  They had put me on their spamming list.   Obviously they feel it is their duty to go around and police Twitter.  The problem of course with this is that it is irrelevant.  Tweeting a one liner or a micro blog makes it very easy for followers to decide if they want to read your tweets or not. For most of us Twitting is promotion, you can dress it up anyway you want, promoting your site with microblogs is in itself spamming.  I seriously doubt that this vampire supply shop would spend so much time Tweeting had they not had the sole intention of driving worthwhile traffic to their site.  Tweeting manually ( which they claim) is hard enough to do without doing it hung by ankles from the ceiling!

Since the majority on Twitter are in it for promotion, most don't care.  As long as we interact with some friendly banter, acknowledge messages & retweet our following from time to time, we are perceived to be managing our account well.  Most of my Tweets are not read as they are posted.  They are read in RSS feeds from subscribers to which they are more relevant.  So suddenly it is not spam it is necessary & valuable data.  It is also this service that makes our Free Ads unique.  Tweeting individual classified posts would have very little value without this.  In fact it would only serve to promote our site as opposed to promote the individual advert.

Whilst we are a new classified site, it does not mean that ads do not get the right amount of exposure.  Our hit rate grows daily and ads also go out on other sites.  Consequently this is a viable site to submit a free advert to.

I am about to embark on more keyword analysis & have a heavy day ahead of me.

So in the name of SEO;

I have been with my developer this morning & returned back to work with renewed enthusiasm, despite not being able to attend to my daily duties several hours after I have normally started.

We have identified several new programing tools which will soon add confidence to the user and indeed to the seller by adding features to the free classified such as an established rating system.  By this time next week all ads will be on auto Twitter.   The week after, all ads will be on a serial rotator on the top of the home page which gives extra exposure to all Free Adverts on the site.  This serves very well for users who start a shop.  Presumably all shops will have more ads than private ads, hence that shop gets more exposure, additionally shops have all their product listed under the main ad so if a user clicks on a rotating ad then they instantly get visuals of other products within that shop.

This is also an instrument for SEO.  Our home page will be constantly evolving which looks great as far as the search engines are concerned.  It appears that we are constantly updating the content of our site which is great for rankings.

Our UK classified site will continue to grow and evolve with modern features making YapYapOK a more viable site for business and private classified ads.

Despite my frantic clicking on Alexa for, it is not yet yielding to my demands.  Since yesterday our UK Free Ads  acheived its second best day on unique visitors, the pages visited were also incredibly high, so I am anticipating a move in the right direction.

My new favorite social media site is Scribd.  I may have mentioned it last week when I first discovered it.  This one is a little different from the others in that the format and the submissins are so easy to browse.  It must also be the easiest site to use.  I actually find myself being distracted by reading other submissions, one thing I rarely do with blogs and next to never with Tweets.  I am finding that within a week I have several followers which is more than I can say for my blog despite it having existed for much longer.

The other nice thing about Scribd is the tolerance.  They allow it to be policed by the people that use it.  In general it seems that we are all in it to get feedback from whatever we are promoting.  I am following one lady for her exquisite vegetarian recipes.  I made her version of Baba Ghanoush to use up my left over aubergines from a mousaka I had made the previous week.

Amongst many subscribers are the wannabe authors submitting chapters for feedback.  I cant help getting distracted by a bit of fiction, I am getting lost in some really great fiction and demanding more form the authors.  This interaction creates a bond between users that just does not happen on blogs or Twitter.  My Facebook postings are really for SEO links since they mostly go unread by my friends, not that I blame them of course.

I am off to randomly select some free classified posts to post on the YapYapOK Facebook page, something I have neglected to do recently.

A series of fortunate events!
YapYapOK Free Ads Alexa global ranking 498,520.  UK Rank 33K

So we expected great things, & great things we got.  I think that this concludes a positive result for the power of visualisation.  My goal is to reach 350k by the 2nd May.

Its odd that yesterday we had no movement in Alexa & that definately lead to a lack of motivation.  I was too easily distracted and ended up doing chores such as driving to the pharmacy, cooking the dinner, doing as opposed to helping with the homework( I find it quicker) and clearing the ironing.  A postive move in rankings is conducive to high productivity, its my inspiration to research and my motivation to succeed.

Yesterday I was distracted not just by chores but also by Scribd, have I mentioned how much I love it?  Instead of my normal SEO research, I ended up searching for controversial articles including "awakening your clairvoyance" & "Life power, & how to use it".  I posted a recipe from the Free Ad forum with a couple of in bound links so to alleviate any guilt I was feeling on such a non productive day.  Well apparently not so non productive at all.

To date ( I joined 7 days ago) I have published 6 articles on Scribd.  All have excessive back links and are mostly about web tools on improving rank & hit rate.  Each one has an average of 60 reads.  Except this last one.  My Morrocan lamb recipe on our Free Ad site ( the link takes you to the homepage then go to forum and recipes,  no its not direct coz I get more page views this way) has been read 916 times since yesterday.  I have had several subscribers over night and comments thanking me for such a nice recipe.  See now your gonna have to look.   The click through rate on my blatent links to the recipe pages was not to be sniffed at and undoubtably affected the Free Ads page rankings.   Additionally it has been downloaded 82 times and just one minute go became one of Scribds featured articles.  Now I know what it is to be a celebrity!

This has motivated me to publish even more of my recipes over the next few days.   The only problem with this motivation is I am left with an abundance of energy.  I need to burn it off so I am off to play my tennis with my son.

Were on the Up & Up

YapYapOK UK Free Ads global Alexa rank is now 461,025  UK 27,747

I was planning to have the day off yesterday.  I often plan them but find myself back on the mac late at night writing my blog & evaluating my UK classifieds keywords  I had intended to leave them a little while longer to see if some of my lesser performing words had any cycle to them.

I had not worked on either my blog or my Classifieds keywords on Saturday so I was feeling that I would probably spend an hour or two when I got home.

Devastatingly we lost our internet.  Last night & until 10.00 this morning.  I have a million other things to do in preparation for my mum & brother coming to stay on Wednesday.  It is totally out of character for me to put off any tasks, I usually anticipate any possible down time, whether they are within my control or not.

Alexa did not change yesterday, so it was such a pleasant surprise to see so much growth from Saturday.  Additionally our free ads visitor numbers grew to another new high.  Today we are on track for yet another  classifieds visit record.

Sorry its short, its relevant although repetitive.  It does illustrate that our web tools ( previous blogs) are working.  It also shows that you dont have to be well versed in SEO to get your site ranked.  I know its premature our free ads still have a way to go, but from 23 million to 460k in 6 months with very little budget and zero experience is not so bad!

We are on Auto Twitter!

YapYapOK UK Free Ads Alexa global rank 454,290 -  UK rank 26k.

The last few weeks have seen some subtle development work on the site.  I actually get involved with the developer and we program together.  More often than not these development changes have to take into account that some users will have little knowledge of uploading adverts, so we make it as easy as possible.  For example, every free advert has a default category and sub category now.  This enables ads to be found in the correct master category should the user not continue through the editor, prior to this they would exist but could not be found.

Another improvement was the currency sign.  Whilst the intention was to have a UK Classified site, other advertisers from the US and Europe have been advertising with the pound sign.

Todays improvement however was the most exciting & also frustrating.  I had wanted an auto Twitter feed which enabled both the title and the price of ads to be sent to Twitter together with a link back to the advert.    One (of many) complications was the fact that the links are generally sent as shortened links since the URL itself may be over the 140 character limit imposed on micro blogs.

We had also to allow that some titles would exceed the character content allowed by Twitter.  We did not want to impose a restriction on the Free Ad title as that is the main selling headline that the seller chooses to market his/her ad.

By using an api from a short URL exchange and incorporating that with an auto Twitter api we were able to create the correct program with which to post a link to the correct page.  We selected the specific parts of the editor and programmed in a contingency allowing characters for our shortened URL as well as the price.  Therefore should the title exceed the prerequisite characters which added with the link and price then it drops the price and the tail end of the title to allow the main part of the title and the link to the advert.

Whew! I can't tell you how my brain was scrambled after this session.  My understanding and respect for C# is at an all time high.  I also have an even higher regard for the patience of my developer and her incredible neat approach to how she "files" her systems.  Even I can identify the individual pages and programs in her system such is her attention to tidying and labeling everything into its correct location.  Every piece of open source used has a reference so that she knows where it is from.  It is this constant filing & referencing that makes the tasks in hand a little longer.

In programming mode she gets carried away coding quickly as she sees the code in her head come to life on the page.  But immediately after it is tidied, files and referenced, never does she put it off to forget to do it later.

This constant attention to detail is predisposed by her birth sign (virgo).  Mine on the other hand is far harder to control (leo).  I fight all natural instincts in order to pay attention to the finer details.  My ideas are never ending, my demands overwhelming and my patience.......hmmm what patience?

I look forward to next week with some new changes which I am incredibly excited about.  i would love them to be implemented now (patience) as I feel that they are such a compliment to the site.  Our Free Ad site is already setting a superior standard.  No other Free Classifieds has this much functionality or gives every free advert so much exposure.  All ads are free and all appear on the home page, are sent to social media and have the same RSS opportunity with no fees what so ever.

Tomorrow I will be writing articles on the new site functions and hoping for an increase in hit rate.  How did I forget to mention that yesterday was another record!

YapYapOK Free UK Classifieds Global ranking 441,347.  UK 27K

So Alexa is going in all the right direction except for a slight drop in the UK.  To be fair I see larger drops than this with more established sites at higher ranking so it is to be expected.  It may be the result of just a few less visits which was the case yesterday.  At this point its difficult to know.  Perhaps we will start to see a little yoyoing in the rankings.  I hope not, but shall be prepared.  We did jump by 6000 in our global rank so we cannot complain

I have found that apart from my traffic from ExactSeek.com, which is now thousands of uniques every week, I am also getting alot of organic traffic from Bing.  They are delivering visitors to me on specific keywords which I had tried as part of an ad campaign with them.  The campaign was a very low budget adword system, much the same as Google only ever so much cheaper.  Consequently within 2 weeks the budget was spent.  I am however still getting traffic from Bing with those keywords although the traffic is now organic, ie free.  I am now thinking of doing the same with Google but will probably wait until either our rank or our population improves.

I am finding the marketing relatively straight forward. Dedication commitment & persistence are paying off.  The advantage of the way that Google now works is that hard work and understanding will get you there.  This allows a better browsing experience for the user.  Gone are the days of throwing money at sites with poor content to rank well.  Its like putting a rubbish shop in a prime spot in the high street.  Curiosity will put the browser on the site, but they are unlikely to return.

What is the point of Google putting that site on the front page if no one puts their foot in the door.  Now content & glue play a far better part in getting up the ranks then big budgets.

This is also the reason why we will wait for more population before we pay more for advertising.  Not of course that we are relying on waiting.  We are considering an assortment of different  strategies before we progress further.

Once we have a higher population of cars, jobs and houses then our rankings will really progress.  Its important that we become the Free classifieds of choice for our users.  So we dont rest on our laurels.  We already have superior functionality to any other sales system on the internet.  All Free Ads are sent to Twitter automatically.  There are picture galleries and embed video as well as free shop hosting.

Its almost a risk free business start up for anyone considering retail.  You can start a second hand bookshop such as this one.  If it works then you can expand it so that you buy in stock with which to profit.  You can free lance for property or car sales at no cost and very little effort.

I particularly love the embed video which uses the Youtube link to help promote your goods.  This Northern Soul Music Shop always adds an embed video to play the music he is selling.  All shop items are displayed under the main Freead for easy navigation for interested buyers.

In addition to the functions we also have the customers. Our visitor numbers are growing and we are getting thousands of browsers looking for homes, property and cars.  We just literally now need the product.  We do have a fair number of ads on the system now, what we would really like to see is this ad number growing.  If you have a product or service that you want to advertise.  Advertise on this free UK classifieds, its easy, its free & you might just increase your income.

Waiting for results!!!!

YapYapOK UK Free Ads Alexa global 441,347 UK 27k

Waiting for the new Alexa ranking is rather like waiting for the results of the election.  The main difference being that we live this every day.

Ah so now you have a little sympathy for me!  I had fully expected to be under 400k by Sunday but if this weeks pattern is in any way indicative we will be about 20 - 30 k out.

I really should not be surprised as I had expected that this free UK classified site would get harder and harder to climb as we nearer increasingly difficult competition for rank.

Having said that our hit rate is consistently high with a lot of organic searches via search engines arriving on our pages, couple that with the number of pages that Google has for YapYapOK (220,000) then I am still optimistic for growth.

The developer is now insisting that to get below 400,000 at this time will be impossible.  I am looking to get our free classifieds below 200,000 within the next 4 weeks.

I am being a little more proactive with regards to population and marketing.  The most obvious being that we outsource to direct sales.  We can spend some money on media marketing and ultimately still struggle to fill some of the voids within some of the categories.  In particular the used car category could really do with some ummm.....cars.  Thousands of unique visitors search for used cars and arrive on our site.  We have nothing to give them.

No one likes to go first so it may be that we either buy the data or outsource for canvassing.   Despite the limited product range the sales are hugely successful.  This may be down to the distinct lack of competition within the site between sellers or because of the RSS feeds the ads are sent to.

Either way, its not important.  What matters is that the UK free classifieds works as an efficient method of selling.  Free ads are easy to post and functionality is superior to all others.  Since we get the hits, we know that population is now necessary for the overall success of this UK free ads.

So give it a go.  One or one thousand and one, there's no limit to your the amount of free adverts you place.

So we are within the 20 -30k I expected with one day to go.  We are currently climbling about 6 k a day which is alot slower than before.  I really should measure this as a percentage now but even that will be alot less than before due to the stiff competition we now face.

A very brief run down.  Our ExactSeek.com ad campaign is goin great for us yeilding a click through of about 400 visits a day.  We also still have some organic traffic from Google and a fair bit from Bing.  I am still playing with my keywords and have another 2 yielding me a higher than expected resut.  Anything over 0.8 clicks per hour is a great return.  Some are 3 or 4 timetimes this.  Others are dismal at 0.2.  Fortunately we only have about 3 poor performers and 3 more under the 0.8 acceptable level.

Craigs List is a great one, Free ads or classifieds don't work.  Shoes is great, clothes is pants.  Home a star achiever, property not. I am tired of word analysis and had really hoped to put it to bed with a month of implementing them.  I have to say though that the result is worth it, tiring as it may be.

Its Saturday & I am getting wound down for pizza and wine.   Fingers crossed for Alexa tomorrow!

I am currently a little distracted with the results of the general election which are still unclear.  I am reasoning that perhaps it would be a benefit to have opposing parties thrash out the finer details of political policies for the greater good of the country.  Nick Clegg is a bright boy as is David Cameron.  I feel that they are both in politics to be serve the country rather than letting the country serve them.

Clearly having a megalomaniac as the Prime minister is of no benefit to anyone.  Maybe they need to rename it, the prime bit may have creates a huge inflammatory ego that is in desperate need of suppressants.

I think that it must be clear that we will have a change of government.  At least I hope as much!

Along with this distraction I have been very busy as I have my mum and my brother over at the moment.  I have therefore been neglecting Free Classifieds SEO ie; my blogs, my word analysis and my articles.  On top of this I am finding other stuff that really needs doing.

I must catch up with some content on the Free Ads news page as well as on the forums. Fortunately my Alexa ranks are going in the right direction else I would feel a little overwhelmed. So please forgive the short blog but there is not a moment to be had.

My eyes were opened to the delights of the Riot Dog of Greece.  There have been may riots in Greece, largely regarding political corruption as well as the scandals regarding the financial instability.  I am unsure how long these riots have been going on but Riot dog has been in the front line for the last 2 years.  Such is his universal popularity that there have been government warnings NOT to shoot the dog for fear of retribution.

Its a lovely story, one which the Brits love, such is their love for animals.  Consequently the Riot Dog Facebook page was started as an awareness campaign & is proving successful in securing his safety.  Riot Dog is fearless in battle & all photos show him at the front of all protests no matter how noisy and overwhelming they become.

I have decided to adopt this approach in gearing up my marketing campaign for the best UK free classifieds.  I must resolutely march forwarded & demand that some of the chores or at least the dinner on occasions are dealt with by someone else.  My role is to fulfill the marketing potential of free social media until such time that a heavier budget is necessary for this fabulous free ads site.  Everything else must be secondary.

I will be stubborn if necessary and the children will starve.  We will wear un laundered clothes or at least un ironed.  Dust will fall on the piano and homework will go unchecked.   I shall be riot dogmatic in my efforts.  Of course it will have to wait for another 8 days as we still have our family visitors and  I must make sure they are well catered for......doh!

Ten out of Ten
YapYapOK Free UK Classifieds Global Alexa rank 406,869, UK rank 26k

I am off topic yet topical today so please forgive my blatant anchor text for the UK free classifieds.  I am waiting for Alexa ( again I insist its like waiting for the results of a general election ...... every day) for our UK Free Ad site

Yesterday saw the arrival of David Cameron at 10 Downing Street.  We commented how happy the Queen looked during the pomp and handover.  I dont envy him his job.  Its clearly going to be tough getting the country in any kind of economic strong hold having had all assets sold by the previous government.

Couple this with the tax break he has allowed as a compromise for the lower earners then this is going to be tough.  I am absolutely for having a higher tax threshold.  I just dont think the country can afford it at the moment.  The tax breaks need to go to the higher income tax bracket to encourage all the ones who left back into the country and get some money back into the country.  I know how that sounds.  I have never been in the higher tax bracket, but I did have a shop where we relied on the liquidity.

When the money stops coming in to support the retail, building or indeed any industry then we are all doomed.  In my shop when the money stopped coming I was unable to support staff thus compounding the economic problem.  The set minimum wage also meant that even getting a little help was no longer viable.

Far from being isolated, I knew from our reps that they had lost many of their customers and their own companies were having to lay off staff.  More unemployed or low income families were having to be supported with the only real benefits being the work shy who have no intention of ever working.  So tax goes up, a mass exodus results and there is no money left to share or support.

Luckily Nick Clegg does not believe in supporting those who wont work.  If they dont work when they are able then stop supporting them.  David Camerons speech outside number 10 seemed to reinforce this.  He stated that the UK needed to pull together ( that's the unions out then - BA staff are in for a shock), that we needed to build a more responsible society whilst maintaining support for those in need.

There have been many compromises on both parts in order to satisfy pressing policies.  Nick Clegg has agreed to drop his "mansion tax" and David Cameron has agreed to wait before raising the inheritance tax threshold.

I have looked though the compromises reported in the news and I do feel that this could be indicative of a good strong government.  I am surprised by just how much I lean to the Tory policies.  I think that David Cameron is well intentioned, genuine and a humanitarian.  I hope that he is given the opportunity to rescue the country I love, its not going to be an easy 5 years for anyone, and we need to see more transparency in government and know why they impose policy changes so that the country gives them the time it needs to create a stronger more affluent society where we can all benefit!

Good luck David, and by the way if it doesn't work out between you and Samantha .......

Male Contraception - about time!
YapYapOK UK FREE Classifieds Global ranking 395,701  UK free ads 25k

Yes I am doing a little dance to celebrate.  We have done amazingly well having gone from 23million to under 400k in just a few months.  The ultimate is to go below 50k but I will be very happy with an Alexa rank of under 100k now.  Gone are the days of climbing 50k a day. its getting increasingly difficult to achieve a climb of a few thousand.  Having said that at least this FREE Classifieds is going in the right direction.

A couple of days ago there was an announcement of male contraception by ultra sound.  This is completely reversible, painless and non invasive.

As the mother of a son, I could not be happier to hear about this cutting edge technology.  It puts choice in the male arena.  Surely for girls too this must be a huge relief.  I am still convinced that years of articially taking hormones has left my body unwilling to produce normal amounts of progesterone which has left me with a sleep disorder.  I also think it is the reason for higher incidence of early menopause.

In my ideal, all girls will be vaccinated against rubella at 13.  All 13 year old boys will be sterile with ultrasound.  Only when they choose to have a child, hopefully in a responsible adult relationship, then they can have the procedure reversed.

Imagine the impact of reducing teenage pregnancies and multi father families.  Consider how this will create a healthier social system, not to mention freeing up the benefit system to care for those that need it.

In my world this will have massive implications reducing child poverty across the globe.  Yes I know that its still early, who knows what the repercussions will be. Is it really safe, and is it reversible for everyone.

In my world, by the time my son is 14 ( that gives them 5 years), it will be a tried and tested success and mandatory.  After all its not as if they can afford to support any little accidents, no matter how delightful they may be!

I have just done some keyword analysis on ExactSeek.com.  I am aiming for keywords which yield  a click through of over 0.8 hits per hour.  Some have been doing very well with an average click through of 2 or even 3 clicks /hr.  Others are doing very poorly at less than 0.2.

I have been averaging 22 hits per hour with all my words combined so this is clearly a great value campaign.  My reason for reporting is that I have a new keyword yielding 8.42 clicks per hour.  I only changed this 43 hours earlier and these are on days where my hit rate is actually below par.  So this is not even its full potential.  That means that this word which is a standard $4 per month is yeilding  an excess of 6000 hits per month.  I get discount for numbers so I am paying closer to $2.  That's a whopping 6000 hits for $2 or 0.0003 cents per click.

Improvements on the best UK Free Classifieds are the new moving adverts.  This means that all free ads appear in rotation on the home page and a side ad rotates on every page.  This gives adverts much more exposure to the browser which will hopefully create an improved conversion on sales.  These is no premium for this service, all FREE adverts get the same exposure.

YapYapOK UK Free Ads Alexa 379,773 -  UK Free Ads  25k, yes a little yoyo-ing but only a couple of hundred

YapYapOK free UK classifieds continues to go in the right direction.  This week has been very pleasing as we have already grown 49k since last Saturday week.   This represented a growth  of approx 12%  of the rank.  We will soon get to a point where our rank settles and cannot grow until we get the hit rate up still further.   We will need to increase our current hit rate up by about 6 times to qualify for under 100k Alexa ranking.

Might sound like alot but I think that we can achieve this within the next 3 months.  Of course we will have to blow the budget a little to get there.  It was important that we got so far by ourselves, ironing out glitches and seeing where we could improve our service.  I genuinely think that our site is slicker than any other free classified site with more functionality and is a great viable online selling solution.

On the subject of solutions, I have just read on the BBC news website that the oil spill may be contained by absorbtion from human and animal hair.  Makes perfect sense.  Hair follicles are naturally designed to carry oil, hence hair grows greasy when unwashed.  Its rough surface and high surface area make it a very efficient absorber.

Hair & fur is stuffed into nylon tights to create a sort of baton and then lay across coastal areas, stopping the spill reaching the beaches.  Apparently this waste can be fed to earth worms who break it down into a petroleum based fertilizer.  Nice!

I am considering a BBC RSS news feed.  Would users like to see this on the home page.  Let me know!

Chelsea won the FA cup & the premiership.  According to my family they were expected to do rather better than the 1-0 against Portsmouth.  A win is a win however, whatever the marjin.   Sadly Nottingham Forest did not win against  Blackpool which means that they will not be promoted to the Premiership.  Every Forest fan I care to listen to is suggesting a bias from the referree and from the linesman who called a legit goal offside.  If its true then they may find themselves superfluous to other league games.  Of course it may be just a case of sour grapes.

Web marketing is a little like football in that you pitch yourself up against a comparable  established site and measure your success in rank.  We have been excited to see our site surpassing the ranked one we were measuring ourselves against.  We have also measured other fairly stable sites for daily fluctuations.  If  sites drops a little in rank, then this is indicative of how our rank may be effected.  Up to now we have not dropped but we have seen a huge variance in the figures we climb.

The best UK Free Classifieds continues to climb in Alexa although the numbers we climb is significantly less.   Today is Sunday so I am giving the YapYapOK free ads a break from routine.  There will be no articles, no promo, just back links for SEO!

I have just read a headline on BBC news stating that brain scans can be used to detect liars.  No such need for me as I cannot lie.  Not to save myself or my nearest & dearest.  I once read that all children have a natural instinct to lie.  It can be advantageous n getting on later in life.  Obviously I am regressed in this department as you only need look at me & the colour of my face says it all.

I can't lie on the phone either.  I long gave up trying.  I genuinely think that no matter what, the truth can be explained where is a lie may get you out of trouble, it nearly always comes back to bite you.

Cheating, on the other hand I have no problem with.  The consequences of cheating are that you get caught, tell the truth and its a little amusing.  I cheat at everything.  Cards, chess, poker, quizzes everything.  I cheat against friends, strangers and even young children.  There are no exceptions.  I have been a bit surprised by how personally some people take it.  Its not serious, I always get caught but I don't care.

If I could have cheated the Alexa rank I would have.  Its fairly easy to frig at the outset but you really need to cover all bases if you want to stay up.  I am now desperate to get our Free Ads under the 100k barrier.  More development has been identified to improve site function but will continue ad infinitum. This will give search engines & Alexa increased confidence in this Free UK Classifieds.  We anticipate being the Fee advertising site of choice within a short space of time.  Inevitably there will be other sites with bigger budgets.  That's why we intend to listen to our customers & never forget our purpose, to provide a viable alternative to pay to list sites but with better function than all other free ad sites.

I have just been reading about a man in the UK who successfully registered his cat with three different bodies representing Hypnotherapists.  Apart from the obvious lack of industry checks it seems that the bodies themselves can be created by anyone who wishes to create one with no formal qualifications, since it is largely unregulated.

Frankly I am amazed that in today's society where every industry sector has come under increasing scrutiny that this escaped not just regulation but  with it litigation.

When we were in retail, we had a step up to the rear of the shop.  The step wad highlighted with black and yellow markings and there were several signs displaying a warning of the step.  Despite this accidents will happen and we played witness to several "trips" which 15 years ago would have been nothing more than a customer not watching where they were going.  Increasingly the victims of these blunders began to look for the sign with a view to sue us for damaged ligaments, limbs as well as pride.  they would have suffered immeasurable distress only made better by vastly inflated compensation made possible by no win no fee lawyers who are currently bleeding the country dry.

My husband was the victim of many litigious attempts.  Not once did he lose a case against him.  It does not stop over inflated insurance premiums to be increased ten fold over the course of just 3 years.  So who pays for this.  Ultimately the customer.  There is little no black market anymore, commitment to staffing has meant that sub contracting in a specialised industry has created elevated prices throughout the UK, insurance cover means that the days of having your house painted for a reasonable sum is no longer possoble.  Full scafolding with their premiums as well as the painters costs and premiums must also be accounted for. Clearly there is a need for health and safety but not ridiculous claims when it is evident that all procedures were properly followed.

Such is the state of play that Torquay council in their wisdom chopped down some old and beautiful trees lining the streets of some important  historic  cliffs in front of the Victorian promenade.  This was to stop claims from anyone who fell from them whilst trying to climb them.  The rooting systems were playing a huge part in keeping the cliffs from tumbling and after they were cut down the roots rotted and a section of the prom, houses and shops were lost due to crumbling substrate.  Hmm, its not rocket science to see who will pay for this and it incredible that they were not accountable.

The compensation culture is unsustainable and ultimately will be deprived of its existance.

Until then, maybe we should take the time to recognise this greedy industry for what it is.  An economic catastrophe which is plunging the country into further debt and many small businesses to go bankrupt.  Now we should all pull together to help the new government build itself back to where we once were.  To do otherwise is unpatriotic and irresponsible.

Among these boys toys are gold Wii's at £300,000 Blackberrys, Iphones & a host of other luxury gadgets are transformed for the rich into Objets d'art.

OK so I know that a Free Ads site may not be the best selling medium for these gifts.  But I would love to host these peoples shop.  If only for the unique appeal that they bring.  Mr Hughes & his wife started the business nearly 10 years ago.  He believes his unique products beautifully crafted fulfills a niche for those who have everything.
Well I don't have everything, in fact far far from it but...if anyone out there feels so inclined, I would be very grateful for a diamond & gold encrusted Iphone.

The problem with rushing is that you can often omit the finer details.  Consequently the Alexa score of the best UK Classifieds site was noticeably absent yesterday.  For that I apologize.

YapYapOK  Free Classifieds global Alexa rank 345,897 UK rank for "The" UK Free Classifieds 27k

I am a little overwhelmed with a backlog of work at the moment.  My mum & my brother left yesterday after 2 weeks visiting.  it was lovely to have them but the after affects of treading water rather than attacking my escalating work load, means that I have fallen very short of my targets.  Additionally I am exhausted, I cant very leave my husband to cook for them as he does on occasions here.  So cooking was twice the work as was lunch ( I didn't know people still did lunch).  My brother has an enormous appetite.  There is never any left overs despite ample on the table.  My husband eats far less preferring to go back later for cold bites.  Since there was none he has managed to lose a few pounds.  So for that I am grateful.

I am also grateful for the time a& effort my brother took in doing one of the jobs on the site that he will continue to do when he gets back.  So this will more than make up for my time lost.  Updating site content is great for google, keyword and has great effects on my rankings.  So my small time issue now will mean that we progress because of his input.

This morning I did not know where to start, ironing the bedding that I washed yesterday, hanging out the towels, starting the dinner or blogging.  I also have quite a lot of work on the site which has gone neglected as well as more keyword analysis.  I have only seen the developer once in a fortnight instead of the usual twice a week. So its time to get busy again & catch up.

My son has very much enjoyed having his family over, he is left a little subdued now they have left.  He adores all his family and misses them not being on the doorstep.  So if your reading this, Henry says hi, we hope you had a good journey back and we will see you very soon!

Our UK FREE Ads global alexa rank has been steadily getting better but our FREE Classifieds UK rank has dropped a little.  I am waiting for some global yoyo-ing before we make any further dents in the budget.  Progress is getting slower but I am hoping to get under the 200k before this happens.  Since I have no previous SEO experience then I am unsure how realistic this is.

I need to update my scribd account as I have found this to be an excellent SEO tool for anchor text links.  Until tomorrow.....

The great thing about having a website to sell your product or service is that the world is your oyster.  Potentially there are millions of browsers just waiting to step into your virtual shop or office and do business with you.  Logically by  offering a great product at a competitive price then the orders will come flooding in and your site will be a success.  Spend a little more on a fantastic site, go live & wait for the orders to flood in!

Of course any one who has ever had a website knows how unrealistic this is.  Marketing a website can be more expensive then the good old bricks and mortar of the high street.

Whilst there are millions of potential customers there are also millions of competitors, many with a much bigger budget than you and with established  ranked sites.  To get in now you have to be prepared to work extremely hard, to spend alot of money ( although cash alone wont do it) or quite a bit of both.  Right?

Wrong!  Free Classified sites are becoming increasingly popular as a sales medium for many small/medium businesses.  The problem with some of these sites is that the format can be difficult to navigate, or the ads are not displayed in a visually appealing format. Pay to list sites often have all the easy navigation but are becoming increasingly expensive.

YapYapOK is a UK Free Classified with a difference.  As well as individual Free Ads, sellers can create a free shop such as this one selling Northern Soul.  The ads are set in a visually appealing format with the option of a picture gallery and embed video.  This seller has utilised the Youtube to gain the embed code so that the ads have the music playing.

All items within that shop are displaced under the main advert & subsequent pages so that any fans of this product can bypass the search & continue to browse in the sellers shop, thus maximising sales for that seller.

There are many other great functions of this free classified site.  YapYapOK continues to grow in popularity & searches are sending thousands upon thousands of visitors to this site every week.  The most popular searches are for homes, used cars and hmmm....shoes.  We also havelots looking for Iphones, games & clothes.

If you sell any of these or just one, then place it on YapYapOK Free Classifieds.  Not to is a missed opportunity!

No SEO, no marketing, no hassle no fuss, no fee. Why wouldn’t you? Free online advertising with massive traffic. Now we just need you!

Our YapYapOK Free ad site is now at Alexa 277k.  It is now  ranked at 22k in the UK.

Our original target of getting this free classified site into the top 100k was 1 year.  Its looking as if we may actually get into the top 50k by then so we are incredibly pleased with the progress that this Free Ads has made.

Site population is encouraging although it would be nice to see property sales, car sales and job ads uploaded.  I think that this will grow organically but to push us up further we are considering some FREE Ad affiliation.

Please feed back if there are other features you would like to see on a free ad site.

We are averaging about 5k jump every day.  I have resorted to directory submissions as well as ad camapiaigns, blogs, twitter etc.

We are looking to affiliate with another large Free Classifieds site.  It is still in developmental progress and not without issues.  Their Free Classifieds format needs to be compatable to our free classifieds format.  This will enable browsers more choice.

Its not without hedaches and coincides with exams for an OU course that the developer is doing.  Please have some patiance.  We will get ther.  Wish us luck.

We are also hosting a great many shops on behalf of websites whose rankings are bot so great.  We can see how many of these Free Ads are coming up in search results so all companies who advertise with us are getting a lot more exposure through their product range.

There is still so much work to do for SEO and only so many hours in a day.  I am making great strides and the hard work is paying off.  Its hard for companies to conduct their day to day business whilst managing a web site.  SEO is a full time job which is impossible to do if your running a business with limited personel.  Outsource and its expensive.

YapYapOK UK free classifieds will be losing all the icons.  This will make way for text linked SEO on the home page.

The home page is always something of a compromise between text which is necessary for the search engines and images which best draw the eye of the browser.

By creating more keyword rich text with the meta data in the source it will be more recognisable not only for the search engines to find us, but ultimately to yield in relevant key word searches placing us better on front of the customer.

To access your meta tags, open your website, go to edit view source and all your meta data will be there.  Make sure to replicate some of this meta data within pages of your website in tangible sentences, ie don't spam.  Spamming will have a detrimental effect.

The YapYapOK UK Free Classifieds meta description tag for example is

"YapYapOK - Free UK Classifieds, buy and sell all classifieds FREE online, local adverts, motoring, computers, personals,
properties sale rent, property"

So I have a task of creating several paragraphs containing each of these words & keywords which I have not included because of spamming, at least once into meaningful text that wont bore the browser.

I have been been blogging via other channels and neglected to blog on the YapYapOK Free Classifieds blog.

I was inspired by the achievements of my young son and blogged about them.

Consequently I looked up inspirational quotes that would mark the topic of my recent blog.  One that stood out for me was an American proverb - "Success is a ladder you cannot climb with your hands in your pockets"

It reminded me that whilst I had been outsourcing some major SEO work, my content was being neglected, hence here I am.

To date, we are Google.co.uk page 1 for Free Classifieds and for the term Free UK Classifieds.  The goal is both terms on Google.com, we only have our one keyword, Free UK Classifieds on page 1.

In the UK this is unimportant since our target is the UK.  However to expand and increase our global traffic we should press on.
With renewed energy, I shall press on with this goal in mind.  After all we are on the right track, but staying still we will get run over.

AOur page views and bounce rate compare well on Alexa with other established Free Classifieds sites and now that our site loading speed has been drastically reduced we are placing very well in search engine results.

The next goal is to produce an App for the iPhone.  We have someone ready to produce it.  This means that the RSS feed om Twitter will link to our url so that all new ads can be accessed quickly and easily once the App has been downloaded from the Apple Store.

Since this is a Free Classifieds, the App will be FREE!

I have been severely neglecting the blog in favour of some major SEO.  Whilst Google indexes the links our SERP has dropped a little.  We are however still on Page 1 Google.

I have also been distracted by The Pioneer Womans recipe blog having discovered her Chocolate Sheet cake which I made for my sons birthday.  Since the discovery I have also been busy making several of her recipes, reading the romance between her and Malborough Man and lookng at her family pics.  Not stalking, more aspiring.

Consequently I have also been playing with some of my own recipes to publish on the YapYapOK Free Classifieds forum and will publish my quiche one, should it be so kind as to turn out properly.

Fireworks has been and gone, not without consequences to the cat who may need to go on valium should the stray bangs not subside within the next week.

We visited a display on Ricos beach in Paphos.  Despite the organisers having permission from the local Muktar, with paper to prove it.  The police turned up as did the firemen who decided that irrelevant of the official paper they simply needed the practice to put it out.

Rather than dampen the evening it actually added a great deal of fun in what was other wise a fairly mediocre night.   Not for the lack of effort since there were fire eaters and other performers in situ.

I guess that November the 5th is just not the same outside the UK, thankfully the children did not seem to notice and had to be dragged away at the end of the evening.

Last night I got caught in a bidding frenzy on Ebay.  I love Ebay, I love the rush and the exhilaration of the win.  Sadly that was not the case last night.  Having lost out on 2 recent auctions where I was the highest bidder but the reserve was not met, I decided to purchase my item through the Free Classifieds listings elsewhere.

Ebay definitely has its place, not least for the fun.  I just didn't have the extra 4 days 7 hours and 32 minutes to wait for the next auction where I may or may not be successful.

The big advantage for me with my new method of buying was that I am not obligated, I will not receive negative feedback should the deal not go ahead, forever tarnished as an impossible buyer!

I love looking at the website first thing in the morning to see what new ads have appeared over night.  This is one of the more innovative ones for Invisalign in London.  Invisalign is a discrete, painless and invisible way to straighten teeth using a series of custom-made, virtually invisible aligners. Whether teeth are crowded, too far apart or have shifted since wearing braces, Invisalign doctor will help you gain a straight, confident smile.

There have been so many new adverts that it has been a little difficult to choose which to blog about.

However as an animal lover I was drawn to these.  I am fascinated with snakes and these are particularly cute.  They are Piebald Pythons and Albino Ball Pythons.  Much as I admire them I doubt I could keep them as pets, I am much more of a dog and cat keeper.

As a golf widow and the wife of the most difficult husband to buy gifts for I also favor this golf club groove sharpener called Groovefix, a brilliant gift for golfers at only £14.99.

A truely unique advert for those who believe in the power of positive energy is the one for the Reiki Healing Circle.

Whatever your looking for, there are some excellent innovative gift ideas available now.

Now holding pole position for Google UK it is not surprising that the page views have increased 10 fold.  Bizarrely this is not reflected in our Alexa rank which has dropped off.

Now the UKs premium Free Classifieds is getting thousands of visits every day.  Feedback has been astounding with many advertisers remarking on how well the site is working so well for them as an free advertising medium.

Please remember that we can only offer this service free to all if terms and conditions are met with appropriate content including taking part in the phone conversion system.

070 numbers are the way in which YapYapOK Free Classifieds generates revenue.  These are not premium numbers but they are charged at a higher rate.  We hope that advertisers consider this when publishing prices by offering goods and services at a competitive price creating a win win situation for buyers and advertisers alike.

Loved the tennis yesterday.  I adore Novak Djokovic.  He is funny and humble and absolutely a master of the game.  I was unable to watch the whole match as I was watching an equally exciting cricket match at a fun day with my family.

However we could keep tabs via the phone and managed to watch the highlights later.

Well done Djocokiv - commiserations Nedal.  All in all a very good day in the office!

YapYapOK Free Classifieds - Google UK Page 1 Number 3

I have been asked to do a few favours for friends regarding SEO on websites.  This has been very valuable since I have employed many SEO techniques that I have under utilised.

Many of these sites have been very easy to get to page 1 of Google as they fit a very specific niche.  YapYapOK Free Classifieds is very general and therefore highly competitive, consequently my faith in my abilities has been totally restored.

Twitter has really come into play again for me.  It is a very powerful tool - used effectively.  To do well on Twitter it is important to get a good following.  I have found that retweeting helps a lot.  People love being retweeted or mentioned as it gives them a bigger audience and encourages more followers.

For example if I retweet a micro blog it gets seen by my followers.  In return I sometimes get a mention from said follower which is apparent to their followers who then consider following me.  If they follow me, the chances are that I will follow them back.

This can be highly addictive and time consuming.  There is automated software that I use and helps with sending Tweets, following and unfollowing as well as sending welcome messages to new followers.   However to be truly effective it is mandatory that you service your Twitter account manually from time to time as a courtesy to your followers and have some interaction.

Since I have started helping other web owners, I am Tweeting for them and the constant logging in to different accounts is all consuming.  I do think that it is worth it - if only to create the links back to your website pages.

Not so long ago it was necessary to shorten links using bit/ly or tinyurl.  Twitter now automatically shortens your url for you thereby creating a direct link to the web page increasing SEO exposure.

So I am off to Tweet, retweet and follow on Twitter.  Check out my Free Classifieds Tweets on Twitter

I spent most of yesterday reading Tweets rather than Tweeting - I did say it was addictive.  Tweeting tends to air on the topical and Twitter was full of the Murdock enquiry.  I was watching the enquiry whilst simultaneously reading what others had to say about it.  What can I say - I am a woman and can multi task!!

The Murdocks pretty much denied any knowledge of any wrong doing exclaiming that the N.O.W represented only 1% of the overall empire and they couldn't possible have any knowledge of the tactics utilsed by the reporters.  Well I can sympathize with that.  I once owned a retail shop and it was hard enough tracing staff who used the phone for telephone competitions.

However can the same be said of the Editor?  Whilst this may be 1% of the Murdochs business it was surely 100% of her job!

I leave you with that thought since I don't want to get too political here.

Completely unrelated but topical is the Google +1 button that is creating waves every where you look on the internet just now.   According to many articles it is Googles answer to Facebook!!

Adding the Google +1 button onto a website is similar to adding the Facebook like.  Entrepeneurs on Fiverr are already offering to create 50 +1s for any web owner with the button. Having looked into it I can only find reviews and webmasters tools.  Thats a bit like looking for Facebook to only find how to add the like button for your site whilst managing to avoid Facebook altogether.  Ok so I have only had a breif look in the past week and its possible that the hype is preempting the site.  However one reviewer did talk about the photo upload which apparently runs very smoothly - I would try it if I could find it!

So to +1 or not to +1?  That is the question!  My gut feeling is that it can't hurt and may actually have positive inplications.  Adding the +1 button is simple according to webmaster tools.  If I can pay $5 for 50  "likes" then I will create 50 links.  Not just any links - Google links.  Surely Google will like that!!

YapYapOK Free Classifieds

We are looking forward to some welcome changes in development.   In order to continue operating as a free advertising medium we are changing some of the ways that members input product description.  This ensures that circumvention of the way that YapYapOK Free Classifieds generates revenue will be minimum.

It is necessary to create this change since the operating costs of running a large site on a dedicated server is vast.  Continual ongoing development to make sure that we remain fast growing & visible is required to make sure that advertisers are utilising a viable selling platform.  Whilst it is free to use - no one wants to waste time adding products if the ad is unseen.  We assure you that it isn't.  The feedback that we have had is that sellers are receiving calls and selling items quickly.  The navigating system is easier and quicker than many competitive sites.

In addition we are working with advertised affiliates rather than Google Ads.  By generating more revenue we can continue to invest and make sure that YapYapOK Free Classifieds remains viable and FREE..

YapYapOK Free Classifieds UK

Every online advertising site is subject to unscrupulous fraudsters.  We have all seen examples of consumers being taking example of on Ebay as well as many classifieds sites.   If a site has an advert for a bargain product that seems to good to be true - then chances are it is.

Whilst it is impossible to vet every advert that appears we use all due diligence to ensure that the YapYApOK Free Classifieds UK website remains as free as possible from these scam artists.  To be fair, these are fairly scarce.  However we did recently notice some pedigree dogs apparently in London for a ridiculously low price.  By checking the advertiser on our database we found that far from being in London - they were in fact from Nigeria.  As a consequence we removed the ad from the site within an hour of it appearing.

Another method we use is checking our statistical analysis of visits.  If we see browsing from some of the countries known to commit such scams then we instantly check the page loads to see if there are any adverts placed which may appear suspicious.

We also ensure that the registered user is inactive on the site.

We take fraud seriously and take steps to ensure our visitors are as safe as can be expected from online con artists.  To safe guard against fraud, please take the necessary steps to protect yourself.  Bizarrely according to online research pets is a common one.  Clearly anyone looking to buy a pet would need to see the animal in advance, so don't pay upfront.  Alternatively if you are looking at a pedigree dog or cat - then why not check out some of the rescue centers that exist for many breeds.  Due to the high level of repossession of homes, many pedigrees can no longer be kept since rental properties accommodating pets are harder to find.  Personally I quite like mixed breeds since they generally do not suffer from the same health issues that occur in pure breds.

If you are suspicious of any adverts on the YapYapOK Classifieds UK site, then drop us an email.
